google question
can anyone tell me why if i launch IE go to google search for free porn it returns with
6,970,000 results and if i do the same thing in mozilla it returns with 9,410,000 which are different from the ones in IE Fred |
It's as simple as the 2 search engines having different databases and search algorithms.

Mozilla/Netscape has always returned different results than IE. Maybe something to do with a hosts file, proxy servers, phase of the moon....
Whenever my IE is not infected with a virus, I try to use it to check SE results. Sorry I couldn't give you a better explanation. It's just some techno gobbldy-gook. |rasta| |

re-read the question buddy. My guess would be that google times out after a certain amount of time. Perhaps IE is .00001x slower then IE and therefor returns fewer search results. Even though I always thought Mozilla was known to be a slower browser. |
It's not just fewer results, it's different results, which shouldn't have anything to do with server timeout intervals.
I have noticed that with the newer versions of Mozilla, as opposed to the older ones like Netscape 4.7, etc, the results are a lot more in sync. |
