Newbie SE Question, about google

how often does google update/refresh what your urls during the search. I finally got one page listed on google ;P Only it was my first version of the page with no keywords and horrible optimization?

Going to have to try to do it everytime ;p

It's supposed to be every month, but I think it comes out to more like 9-10 per year (and others will correct me if I'm wrong)

Klove,

It depends on "how important" Google thinks your page is..
and the content on your page,
and how often it changes,
and how often the page is updated,
and the no. of incoming links,
and the quality and relevance of those incoming links..
and..
and..
and...
:D

If it is a single page, with a few incoming links, and the page is not updated daily etc... then as per what GG said.. about every month.

So what you are saying the more free sites i build on the domain, the more often the links from others will help and update it more, and the more hardlinks I do with others, the same situation.

+) starting to get the hang of it ;P

Well sort of.... :)

Yes... if you gain more incoming links to your site.. then your Google ranking should improve... especially if they are relevant...

If you update the page, with new "content" Google will smile upon your page too...

.. but if you update the content you may/will change the keywords used in your page.. and that can also affect how Google ranks your page...

Oh wow - ignore my post above - I misread the question - LOL

Google updated my page today, so it only took 4-5days max to do this. If anyone is interested in knowing.

I don't advise building and hosting free sites you submit to other TGPs or LLs on your main domian. We had a very high PR about 6 months ago, about 6 that dropped to 0 since I began hosting and posting galleries on the same domain (a few thousand).

grzepa 2004-09-30 12:30 PM

@gunncat: why is that ? You was banned by google for building free sites ?

No, it's because I have so many outgoing links from that domain.

If I understand right , lets say I have 200 free sites on domain "x". Listing these sites (linking to each site) on my domain "x" is a no no because there will be to many outgoing links ?

Sounds like google caught you spamming them. How else do you explain "a few thousand" in six months?

DangerDave 2004-09-30 06:00 PM

Well....

GunnCat, if you went from 6 to Zero.... it is highly unlikely you were banned. Banned domains go grey.

There is no reason at all not to build on the back of your domain, as always it is a matter of how you do it and why you do it.

?? you think you got banned for too many outgoing links? I would love to hear the facts behind that theory?

grezpa, as I said above, it's all about HOW you do it. My question is WHY do you want to do it.. Think about what you are trying to achieve before just linking everything.

Well what I had in mind is just a mini LL listing all my previously done free sites.

Do you use auto-submitters (which submit to thousands of TGPs, regardless of their quality)?
I´ve seen many TGPs banned by Google; if you link to many of them, your site may have been classified as part of the "bad neighbourhood", and hence banned.
