I want a domain in Redemption Period status

I've never wanted a domain that has been used before.

But in this casee it's not adult and would be a good domain for me to have.

It expired 19 Jul 2004 10:53:14

Status is On Hold- Redemption Period.

According to whois.sc:

Quote:

REDEMPTIONPERIOD: The registry sets this status when a registrar requests that the domain name be deleted from the registry and the domain has been registered for more than 5 calendar days (if the delete request is received within 5 days of initial domain registration it will instead be deleted immediately). The domain will not be included in the zone. The domain can not be modified or purged; it can only be restored. Any other registrar requests to modify or otherwise update the domain will be rejected. The domain will be held in this status for a maximum of 30 calendar days.
OK. So, it's been way over 30 days...double that. So, why is it still in that status?

It has my last name and the widgets I want to sell.

So, it would be a nice to have domain, though not critical.

I used to have those backorder domain bidding sites bookmarked. snapnames(?) and a few others.

When would that domain become available to register?

Best chances to get it?

Thanks...

godaddy has pretty inexpensive backordering.

After a domain goes into redemption, it can be 30-90 days (regardless of what the message actually says)

Backorder it, if its not too common a name, you'll probably get it and the extra few bucks isn't worth the hassle of having to check it every day.

OK. Thanks.

try to find out where the domain was originally registered and then go to their site and see if they offer a backordering service....that way you will be first in line.

cheers,
Luke

register.com - no backorder service.

Thanks for the tip though, chilihost.

I would check out snapnames.com, namewinner.com, pool.com & clubdrop ~ at least that way you may be able to see if there is interest in the name from other parties. They also offer their various backordering services.

Hi All!

Haven't posted for a while cos I've been busy with other projects. One of which is domain speculating so that's why this post caught my eye ;)

Definitley the best drop service to snag this domain would be club drop from www.enom.com By far they've had the best success for me. Even better than the overpriced 'services' of snapnames, pool et al.

Good luck!
