Stolen Images
 

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this.

I discovered 2 weeks ago that http://www.Joggs.com has stolen some of my images. |pissed| I have emailed him directly. Looked him up on Who Is, emailed his host (I think he has his own server) and his host's host. I've basically sent emails all the way up the line. And no response. Not one single word.

I would consider it promotion and let it go, if he at least had the courtesy to give me a link back to my site.

The worst and most frustrating part for me is that he has cut off my web address and is using one of my images as his webmaster exchange button. So now, this image is everywhere. I hate that! |angry|

Can any of you seasoned vets out there give me some advice/help?

Well, it sounds like you've tried the nice way. The next step is to send DMCA notices to the three you mentioned above. I'm sure you can find a "fill in the blanks" DMCA notice on the net. If they don't respond to that, you can get an injunction to shut down the site. I don't really like DMCA notices because I've been on the receiving end of those a few times. Even though I responded with my licensing info for the contested images, my sites were still taken down for two weeks. But, you gotta do what you gotta do if you think somebody is violating your copyrights.

I'm sure we can figure this out in no time, atm I'm not aware of any stolen images on my website.

This can happen. it's incredulous, but I have e mails i send get dropped by spam filters all the time, or i get so many spam mails in my inbox that it is quite possible to inadvertantly delete a legit mail. I wish we all had a more stable way to communicate with each other on issues as important as this. guess thats what the boards are for :)

That may be the case. I'm open to all possibilities, but I did send 3 emails. And got no response from the site or their hosts. And it is still up. |huh
