I took your advice...

...and got myself some paid hosting and a domain. |bananna| I've spent the better part of two days making my first freesite, but before I duplicate the index page and start submitting I was hoping someone could take a quick look and point out any violations of the most common rules for submitting to link lists. Thanks.

It's a good start :)

You might wanna drop the counter on the index page since some linklist doesn't allow it anymore. Since you got paid hosting now, they should provide you with server stats.

Some might object to the form Back button since you have to click every one of them to see if it really takes you back and not somewhere else.

If you want more places to submit to, feel free to submit to the one in my sig.

Good luck :)

Thanks, swedguy, I'll put you on my submission list.

I used a java button to be able to use the same gallery pages for all the submissions. So I guess back buttons (no matter what kind) are unnecessary?

Nice.. artistically speaking i like the watermark on your gallery pages. really classes it up..

I agree about the back button, but I'd list the site. You're better off mirroring the whole site than playing java tricks though. A lot of LLs find that to be cheater-esque and would have a problem with it.

That said, it looks great for a first free site.

I'll get rid of the back button and the counter as well. If you don't mind, what does mirroring mean?

Fonz 2004-10-03 11:58 AM

mirroring = copying your html pages to another directory to submit ton other linklists...

If I was you I would keep every html page of a "mirror" site in the same directory.

Do something with your exit traffic. Google doesn't need the hits, nor will they make you money.

Stay away from promo'ing privacy software. Some LL's won't list you if you link to it. Not to mention, if you stop and think about it, you are cutting off your nose by doing so. We *need* cookies and their tracks, and we want them to be left on the system of the surfer, not wiped out.
