Window dressing. Companies use lookers of both sexes to greet and treat potential customers. It's part of the machine now.

Despite being a hot, smart webmaster myself (modest too! hehe), I would still probably assume she was just eye candy until she proved herself otherwise. While it would be nice if women in this industry weren't immediately dismissed as "just content", the fact of the matter is for every good looking webmaster chick, there are 50 models who know zero about the business.

The recent Mandyxxx episode springs to mind.

In my former life in corporate IT I would end up judging her by her clothes. If she was wearing a slit in her dress and no matching jacket then she would be window dressing until proven otherwise.

If her skirt was only a millimeter below her crotch but no slit, she wore panty hose (not stockings) and she wore a matching jacket to make it a dress suit (I think that's the term), then I would expect her to be a hot shit sales rep, business development person or if she seemed stupid then possibly marketing rep.

I've seen a few ruthless sales reps sporty Pam Anderson bodies in the coprporate world and a few would close a lot of deals. Now if she tried to convince me that she was the CFO of Chief Scientist, I don't think I would buy it.

I may be wrong, but I never judge a woman's mind until I've tasted her pussy. That's just me. That's how I do business.

My wife is an educated woman who also looks damned fine in her low waisted hip-hugger jeans. She has taught me it's best not to judge on appearances alone. You can get quickly bit in the ass that way. If someone I may do business with just happens to be a babe, that's just icing on the cake. Plus, looks aren't all that important to me in business. I'd let just about any woman blow me.
