Shopping online for furniture

Where I live I'm less then a mile from a dozen or so large furniture stores so I've been spending a lot of time at them looking at bedroom sets. I finally found a set that I like for about $2500.

Anyway today I'm Googleling for furniture just to see what I'd find and I see the exact same set that I want for over a thousand dollars less. On top of it they deliver in 3 days versus 3 to 4 weeks for the local store.

This is what I'm thinking of getting

My bedroom will not be ready until the end of this month if I'm lucky so I'm still looking around as I have no place to put the furniture that is in my house. Actually everything I have is ending up in big piles all over the house.

Today I had electricians here all day.

They basically went around putting holes into everything and tomorrow they are coming to put more holes.

I do have a new 150 amp panel in my garage and a new 200 amp panel outside.

I also have a new pan and valves in my bathroom.

what about shipping and delivery cost on the furniture.

my idea of remodeling is watching HGTV.

Flat rate of $75.

Also, nor sure about this one, you usually don't have to pay sales tax unless you live in the same stats as the store.

3DayFurniture.com delivers nationwide within the continental United States. 3DayFurniture.com guarantees delivery in the greater Los Angeles area in 3 days or less. These deliveries are made using our own fleet of trucks and the delivery rate is a flat fee of $79.00. For those customers who live outside of our 3 day delivery area, we use HomeDirectUSA & UPS to fullfill orders. Generally UPS ships smaller items and HomeDirectUSA ships oversized items. Shipping cost depends on the merchandise ordered as it is calculated according to shipping zone and weight. Home Direct USA orders usually take between 7 to 14 days to reach the customer’s home. UPS orders arrive to the customers home depending on what service they have purchased at the time of checkout.
I think its only 3 days if you are in the LA area (and not lower alabama either)

but maybe they have some other deal. i'm looking for a stainless steel fridge to get my son for a house warming. Sears wants 1500 for one i found. On here it's 599.00. Have to see what the shipping cost is from LA to ATL.

some good prices anyway.

I'm doing all stainless appliances and so far the best prices that I've found is at my local Brand's Mart who has a really bad web site but great local stores. I'm doing the GE Profile series which isn't cheap and I'm paying about $1800 for a side by side frig but they have over ones much cheaper.

Like a lot of men I do not have the shopping gene so this is all greek to me.

But I like the idea of going to an online store and having shit delivered.

That's a real purdy bedroom set Cleo. Not that I ever really wanted to know what the fuck a "bedroom set" is anyway. ;-}

It's the furniture supporting the piece of flesh that you are fucking.

You must be beat, Cleo. Nothing strains the nerves like remodeling.

Real pretty set and great price.

Good luck in your search.

I can't even begin to describe how exhausted I am. I tried to build something today but I was making so many errors that I gave up.

The getting up before dawn each day is killing me and then I'm trapped in the house all day by workers and then when they leave I'm just too exhausted to go out and do things that need to be done.

I still have to go to Home Depot after they leave to pickup needed stuff.

Then there is the construction grim that is in everything including my hair which is just gotten all dry and frizzy from it. I look like hell and my skin is just nasty from all the dust and grim.

But it is going to be fucking awesome when it is done.

Are you doing the remodeling because of the hurricanes? I saw your pictures....what a job!

Thanks for the links to the bargain sites.

I joined a bunch of affiliate programs for major retailers and online shopping places.

I use them for my exit page. Exit Link

I bought some gorgeous 600 thread count sheets from SmartBargains for $89 for a queen size set. The quality is really good and they are holding up very well. The sheets at the local stores are $99 and I think they're only 250 thread count.

My husband is retiring in 5 years (Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien) and he wants to get a house down at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, so we've been buying stuff for the "Lake House" through these sites.

There's a store here in KC called World Market - and we got a dining room table and 4 chairs for $249. It's not the best quality, but it looks nice. If you have this store by you, check it out. Their stoock changes all the time because it's all imported stuff from all over the world. They have cool rugs there too.

Take care.

The hurricane destroyed part of my roof, my bedroom and its closet and bathroom.

So new roof, bedroom, bathroom, and closet.

Seemed like a good time to finally getting around to doing the rest of my house too.

In addition to repairing the storm damage I'm also redoing my kitchen including moving some walls and its entrance door from my garage. Completely redoing another bathroom and putting a new sink and toilet in another one.

I'm also tilling the whole house even the closets.

I'm also fixing some problems it had like a badly installed A/C and electric that was just a patched mess of electric boxes all over the place.

Then there are the slew of little things that end up having to be done as you get into this like replacing nasty looking doors and adding lighting fixtures here and there.

Probably the only furniture that I'm getting is a new bedroom set and maybe new couches.

Always nice to have your duckwork sticking out of your living room wall leading to the fireplace.

Maybe I should start a fire up to keep the A/C nice and warm. lol
