Trick Or Treat

Well its that time of year again, does anyone really Trick Or Treat anymore or is this a lost custom? I can remember as a kid going out for hours getting pillow cases full of candy and being able to eat it on the run. But those days are gone :(

Greenguy 2004-10-25 10:52 AM

We got a shitload of kids at my old house - I remember one year I had to run top the store to get more candy - but that might have been because I was clueless as to how much I should give out, so each kid just got a big handful - LOL

No one comes around here on Halloween - the houses are too far apart.

I heard my kids mumbling something about eggs & soap :D

My kids go trick or treating each year. We don't get any at the house (out in the country) so we go into town. I used to do it every year as a kid and my kids have always done the same. There seems though to have been a big resurgence since the harry potter novels and films.

This year we have a couple of bitches, er, witches. I too overheard eggs :D

Could I EVER teach them some tricks |bat|

I'll be bringing my little hooligans out for a grand half hour of halloween fun. That's about as much as I can handle. The key is giving your kids small buckets for candy. Once they're full, we're outta here.

I'm going to a halloween party as well. I'm going to sew a shitload of stuffed cats to my clothes. What am I going to be? A pussy magnet. :D

a pussy magnet.. my hubby would love it! (he dressed up as a condom one year.. SO glad it was before we met!)

I take the kids trick or treating in our neighborhood.. the first year sucked as most of the neighbors were elderly and would leave their lights on and ignore you. The past two years have been getting better tho'.. the old people are going into nursing homes and lots of other families with little kids are moving in. (isn't that just awful of me.. but hey.. they might keep their houses nice but they are some bitchy neighbors)

This year my son is going to be a wizard and my daughter is going as a devil (very appropriate!)

I LOVE Halloween.. even if I have to check all the candy in my kids' bags :(

Not sure what kind of turnout we will have this year, our area doesn’t seem to have many kids around.

I am glad we dont have this crazy thing round here ;)

We haven't had a kid come to our house since we moved out of town. But, when we lived in town, they came to our door one after another. My daughter is going as Paris Hilton this year. She wanted to borrow our Chihuahua. It's better than the $10 whore she went as last year. :)

Anymore kids can only trick or treat for an hour here. They start it
with the town whistle around 6 or seven then sound it again an
hour latter to signal the end. They also have it the night before
which I think is kind of stupid but the kids like it because they can
hit a diffent town on the real day. :)

Its all good though considering that for a few years they had outlawed it all together.|angry|

The fuck heads ruined halloween years ago - hell when I was a kid halloween was at night, last I remembered its around 3:00 in the afternoon here.. had a couple of halloween parties but all my friends and my wife dont agree on what a halloween party should be.. my idea was loud music, drinking, talking BS watching a spooky movie on the wide screen.. there idea is to sit around and talk.. Its a halloween party not a talking party..

When my older kids were young enough to T or T we lived in Manhattan so it was always a crap shoot. the people in my building would give money.. the shops up and down the avenues gave out candy and then we'd always sneak in a building or 2 and get some of the "good stuff" but the funny thing it turns out .. by the time the kids got home and got out of their costumes, their bags were all filled with their personal favorite candys.

i'd buy identical bags or plastic ass pumpkins..and fill one with each kids faves..kit kats etc.. then switch them out when they were in changing.

my youngest hates the T or T part but loves giiving out the candy. this year his school is doing a "Trunk or Treat" where parents/kids decorate the back of their cars, park in the lot and kids go from car to car getting goodies.

At least it's on the right day and at dark.

"Well its that time of year again, does anyone really Trick Or Treat anymore"

I overheard the wife telling her daughter to bring the grandkids over when their done trick or treating so she can see them in their costums, so I know Mexicans still Trick Or Treat

"I heard my kids mumbling something about eggs & soap "

Halloween + rotten duck eggs from the lake = Pat's first time in handcuffs and taken home in the back of a squad car

"My daughter is going as Paris Hilton this year. She wanted to borrow our Chihuahua. It's better than the $10 whore she went as last year."

Jim your age is telling, the only $10 whores I know of now are missing most of their teeth

I'll be go to hell I was sure that I was the only board member who let their wife talk them into getting a Chihuahua|rasta|

No one comes around here either. Last year was our first year at the house, so we went and bought like 6-7 bags of candy because at our old house it was a free for all. Last year we didn't get one kid at the door. The following day we found out all the kids from around here go to the next city over for Trick or Treating because the houses are more organized like a subdivision, unlike ours.

I miss seeing the kids dressed up in their costumes though, someday Mrs. AcidMaX will want to have kids and we can take our little one trick or treating :)

Simple math:
Paris Hilton costume - chihuahua = $10 Whore :D

This thread is useless without pics.

I remember Mrs. Keevin's carmel popcorn balls and going as a ghost or hobo. We were quite poor!

Then as an adult, I guess the most memorable costumes were and elf and a piece of cheese. My friends were the 3 blind mice, so no more mice were needed, so I cut the cheeze! I mean, I was the cheese!

Here's a cute idea for a cheap costume....

attach mini cereal boxes to yourself with plastic forks stuck in them ...

Cereal Killer.

That is all.

Nina
