The Finals - Bushs campaign bailing
OK - my final post today :)
http://www.yesbushcan.com/index.shtml Seems that staunch supporters for Bush have figured out its a sinking ship - and are bailing - this was a huge group of supporters that were on the road for Bush - and have decided it was the wrong thing to do |

On a somewhat related note, you know what Bush commercial I think is really cute and funny?
It's that one with the wolves. They are so obviously tame wolves, looking eagerly at the guy with a food treat at the cameramans side, jumping towards the camera with bright happy eyes and wagging tails like freindly dogs. I've never seen a cuter bunch of wolves in my life! They're so fluffy and well groomed! Wild wolves have a totally different look to them that anybody with any experience with wildlife can recognize instantly. |
wow nice link,
"you know what Bush commercial I think is really cute and funny?" has anyone seen the fake one with Will Ferrell? I'll see if I can find a link |

I just have to say it...
Quoted from the beginning of that site:
"Before breaking with Bush, the Yes, Bush Can team worked earnestly to support him. They went to the Pacific Northwest to promote Bush's Healthy Forests Initiative--and discovered it was enabling the logging industry to cut down our last old-growth forests." This is a crock of BS! Being from the very community that was part of the reason for this initiative...there will never be a threat to the "last old-growth forest". The vast majority of the Pacific Northwest is owned by government, highly, highly protected, to the point where most access has been prohibited. The logging industry is almost completely (and probably rightfully so, due to past practices on privately owned land) shut down. Most of my family was displaced due to the industry crashing the last two decades. Only a few were able to move on to a related industry, run by goverment, in forestry, parks, and preserve programs. That initiative is to prevent what took place in the last major fire, that cause our entire county to be cut off from the rest of the world except by ocean access. There's a difference between conservation and preservation. There are millions of acres of forest land that will never be even forested, let alone logged (another misconception in definitions, logging and foresting are NOT the same thing)...not ever, whether this initiative goes through or not. I attended meeting after meeting with officials to educate myself on this very matter. And became a spokesperson of sorts to have the voice of citizens not living in the area be allowed access at all to these lands. The former agenda caused roads to be blocked, or torn out, which either prevents access to combat fires, makes it dangerous for firefighters to attempt to battle these devasting blazes, in addition to perminently restricit those very future generations from ever being permitted to enjoy what has been preserved. OK....I await the tomato throwing. Sorry, but I'm kinda passionate on this particular subject.|couch| |worm |
Out-Fucking-Standing
EDIT: Porn Princess, I understand your frustration, but in my eyes people waking up from Bush's fantasy world in which he's made America a better place to live is a cause for celebration, regardless of the path they took. |
