I have completely lost faith in my fellow idiot Americans. There is no good reason for this to be a tight election. This is proof that this election should have never been left in our hands.

We could always hope that a astroid falls from the sky and lands in the Bush.

I stayed up til appx 4am my time watching it on cnn. It may be my own ignorance (probably, I can hear you say!), but the electoral voting system seems antiquated. I spent 6 years at university but must admit to falling asleep in most seminars/lectures on voting systems. The primary benefit seems that no state will be overlooked by candidates on the run up to elections. However, the drawback is obviously that your vote "may" not count, could even HELP the opposition (if I have it right). So I don't think americans are idiots, just that the voting system needs re-working (not that it will happen, given by what they've said on cnn).

Have to say I am VERY suprised it's this close. What irritates me further is having to wait 11 days before a state, such as Iowa, will even begin a thorough count. Again this, to me, seems like a law worthy of change. In an age of cnn, cbs and internet, the speed with which a decision is reached goes hand-in-hand with our faith that all is honest and every vote HAS been counted.

Anyway, fingers are still crossed for you guys (for all of us really).

Oh no, I have to disagree with you. Look at all of the red on that map. It speaks for itself. Most Americans never step out of the bubble to take a look in from the outside. If they did, once they were done vomitting, they'd say, 'holy fuck! What a mess.'
The only thing that gives me hope is the fact that, in many states, Bush has 'won' by a very narrow margin. That means almost half of the people in many of those red states are educated or don't have sex with their siblings. Maybe even both.:D

What is going through people's minds? Bush has killed the economy, racked up the largest deficit in American history and then there's the war issues. I don't get it? |confused|

I have a feeling at least some of it falls down to lack of information. We work on the internet everyday. In other words, our jobs are managing information. Many americans may not have enough information to make a decision which reflects decisions they would make if they were in possession of more information. One reason EVs are so close is most states are accustomed to voting republican or democratic. A landslide is almost impossible because many americans will not be stayed from a party, regardless of the man in charge (same happens in the uk). I;'m still hopeful though. :)

I do see your point, but I have to be careful how I agree with you on this point, considering international pornography relations :D

I am serious Fonz. Even my wife, Victoria, has no interest in staying around here. Mexico looks really good. Imagine, living like kings with the money we make. My wife's favorite food, Mexican. No more snow. And best of all...being able to laugh at stupid americans for having such a moron for a president.

That's why I said it first. I wouldn't expect any non-American to come here and tell us how dumb we are, even if statistics show us that at least 51% of us are. And in a land where the majority rules... well, you get my point.

In all honesty I would probably do exactly the same thing. Not necessarily Mexico, but I'd take my family out of the country. I'd suggest you look at England but the USD is worth shit over here because of Bush.

The USA is going to make it harder and harder for their citizens to obtain their passports.
And, make it harder and harder for any citizen to leave the country.

You can or may disagree, that’s fine.

But, the simple truth of the matter is, as more and more Americans leave the US for other countries, bringing along their families, their American currency, skills, businesses and tax paying dollars….the Government loses. This wont set well with the “ Police State” we’re heading for.

It isn’t for just another 4 more years. The damage that the Bush administration is going to cause will last for many, many years after.

I tottaly agree with you Jim. You would think after being cheated out of there votes last time the Democrats would have made sure that they all went out and voted so that there would be no possible mistake this time. I am very disappointed in most of America right now. To see all that red on the map is ridiculous.

I just don't get how you can run an economy into the ground, go to War with a person who did not attack us, still leave the one who did out there, lose 3 debates, and still be clamed the winner.
