Too bad it wasn't as close as the screwed up ballots. :D

Jim 2004-11-05 02:40 PM

Yep...maybe the exit polls weren't really wrong.

tiny 2004-11-05 04:18 PM

Yeah they started talkin about that stuff on the 3rd.
Bush didn't want anything fixed and he knew it'd be fucked up.
Ya would think that we'd have gotten it right but NO alot of states took the we'll fix it next time approach.

2 things occurred that make it pretty obvious that the US elections will never be the same. 4 years ago the Republican appointed justices in a split descision decided that FL voters have the right to vote but if a van full of ballots disappears then those votes just don't count. Basically "You have the right to vote but you don't have the right to have it counted".

Then the Republican President and Republican house decided that voting machines no longer need to keep paper trails and the software used for voting should be kept secret. No honest data security expert can accept this as a good or secure recommendation. Basically we don't want to hijack a van again so we will make sure that there are no more ballots to destroy.

The Supreme Court ruling makes voiding a vote almost impossible, even when everyone agrees the numbers don't match. The electronic voting machines have removed all physical records of voting.

This election may or may not have been rigged and we will never know becasue the bits are gone. Even if it is determined that this one was rigged the courts have already ruled. That's a double gaurentee that we no longer have to have free and honest elections.

Isn't that one of the new made up reasons why there are so many people dieing in Iraq?

anyone see Bill Maher last night?? Alan Simpson had a melt down..

and Susan Sarandon who worked in Ohio on election day.. brought up the 638 registered voters thing, ramster. I don't see mainstream TV talking about it.

Something is wrong.

I also heard on several reports they were blaming the "bloggers" and while there is tons of misinformation.. i'm kind of looking at bloggers as the electronic version of the drums we used to use to communicate. or code talkers or runners.

it's really a mess.

Either voting was seriously impeded by a messed up electronic system, or it was deliberately manipulated by malicious outside forces. Either way, we have a serious problem here; one which is being conspicuously ignored by the media. What are we going to do about it?

I am dead serious about this. I don't know the answer.

The big media can't be trusted anymore.

Even when they are right, their news is days to weeks behind the internet news sources.

The big media is little more than the propaganda arm for the mega-corps at this point.

Of course, the red states aren't smart enough to have figured that out.

How a good old fashion case of hacking?
http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/1106-30.htm

Do you think the FBI will really investigate this, or will they just take the evidence and bury it?

Linkster 2004-11-08 12:34 PM

The media will never go after any story that really goes against Bush - they saw what happened to Tom Brokaw and the poor fella in Florida that worked for the Natl Inquirer and published the pics of Bush's daughter out drunk and wild on the cover.

Of course most people just think that the FBI cant find who did the anthrax - its a bunch of horseshit cause that strain was only made in one location in the world (Maryland) and only one lab had enough containment to be able to weaponize it - again Maryland (ok so the US Govt has 19 other labs that could have done it- but havent), and add that to the fact that 10 of the US's leading macrobiologists have now come up "missing" - guys that know how to work with this stuff - (actually one just got found down river from where I live on the Miss river)

But you never will see these people come out against the Govt - added to the fact that their owners are all the giant corporations poised to do all kinds of business in the middle east

I guess Tom Daschle wont have to worry about more envelopes - now that they fixed the election against him
