Politics and the Adult Business :)
I have always said that besides politics, this is the only business where you can call your partners, competitors, friends and enemies pieces of shit in public. And, while it seems to be necessary to be able to do that just to keep everyone honest, I do long for the days when the only form of communication between webmasters was email. With the ease of conversation to many people at one time, by the time you realize you are only saying what you are saying because you have lost your temper, it is too late. I have just finished reading my posts and emails from the past several days and I am surprised at myself. People have always said of me that I have the patience of a saint. I have been communicating with webmasters, both good and bad, for almost 8-1/2 years. And, most times I do try to give the benefit of the doubt to someone I am talking to. This last week, I did not. For the people that have had to deal with my little tirades, I apologize. Most people know, I really am a nice guy.

I think most people take it easy on what is said on boards I know I donīt take it to serious if someone calls me a piece of shit on a board but if its in a email or on ICQ I take it personally.
I made some stupid posts on boards where I posted before I thought I rarely do this in email because they tend to be longer and I normally calm down before I press send. |
We all say things we regret.
If a relationship's worth preserving, it will weather the storm. |
Well Jim, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Your reputation precedes you. I little schmuck like me on the other hand, well that's a different story. I often say things to people on the boards that are terribly direct and harsh, but I mean those things from the bottom of my heart.:D
It was mentioned on another board, where things have become very angry within the last couple weeks, that this is probably a reaction to the fact that our world has been very tense lately. I think our board personalities have been effected quite adversely by the drama in the 'real' world, so we are not letting things slip on by the way would have in the past. Do what I do. Blame Bush. |
People say things on chat boards that they would never consider saying in a face to face environment. Being alone and not seeing the body language of others often brings out the darker side of our minds. It's just how it is and I don't think anyone takes it that seriously.

I think Before I Speak!
I think Before I Speak!
I learn that lesson at early age... "Think Before You Speak". Unfortunally most people do not. Many Wars and fights would have been prevented, if people only had taken the time time to think just a little bit before releasing a cascade of bad sentiments for others. Forgive. Forgive those that do not think what they say. fuck enough peace talking back to whos is who full of shit... |knockout| |

Jim, although i was not personally a target of any of your 'tirades' let me exspress my respect for what you wrote in this post. spaz |
Ditto what Jim said :D

Nice to see you guys back in good mood. |bananna|
I agree with ClubPussy. I always felt it is better to, Think before we leap. Neo |
I agree Jim, and BTW I've made good use of the awesome 60 minute editing window on this board |rasta|
Sometimes I don't realize I was an asshole until a half hour after I post something, and most boards only give you like 15 minutes. The world HAS been very stressful lately, and the fact that many of us had our hopes dashed on election day hasn't helped. I can say this, though: It takes a true gentleman (or lady) to stand up in public and admit when their behavior fell below their personal standards. I've gained new respect for both you and GG, and hopefully one day I'll be big enough in the biz to do some real business with ya! |
