Ok it's probably the wrong cat for this..but the above hotels just added rooms and lower rates for the dates of Internext..

Been dragging my feet on this one... we've been debating on staying a few extra days to do CES this time around - been wanting to hit that show SO badly ever since Dokk first started going on and on about all the kewl stuff. Got my badge and everything for CES (it's free if you order it online pre-December) - but still not sure if I can take that long of a trip.

Kath..i work all the conventions here, go booth to booth collecting information, mainly biz cards and a company PAYS me to do it. We just finished SEMA (the auto afterparts show) and man oh man i got bags full-o-goodies. not to mention seeing all the new gadgets for cars coming up, kewl new colors etc.

and being the whore that i am, going to turn those fresh hot contacts into even more $$.

I've been to CES before as well, even 1 day is MEGA toys. and some of the things are just AMAZING... Hey maybe you can justify your stay over by interview the "webcam madame".. LMAO...

Yes Docholly, rates at the Luxor are reasonable.

Try using Travelocity and booking your airfare and hotel. I actually got a little better then the Luxor posted rates even though the last day there is an increase in my rates. It was like that no matter what I tried. Remember the Travelocity rates also include the taxes which many other quotes do not.

They didn't reserve enough rooms at Mandalay. I wouldn't be surprised if over 1/2 of the Mandalay is not convention goers :)

If anyone wants to pay me to go, I'm available.:D All that I require is airfare and hotel accomodations. I have plenty of clean underwear and I am almost completely house trained. I do windows, but not very well.

A buddy of mine booked his at the Luxor last month & gt a normal room for $70/night from the 3rd thru 9th (I think)

With the tram connecting the 2 hotels, the Luxor will be a popular option for those that didn't book before Rose flled up.

The Tram also connects the Excalibur and it's even more reasonable than the Luxor or Mandalay bay. BUT the actual expo is quite a long way from where the trams drops off at MB so be prepared to "hoof' it.

There is no monorail service however up the strip and lots of hotels, like MGM, Bally's, Imperial Palace, Sahara etc still have it listed on their website as transportation. They opened the Monorail and a wheel fell off, the doors opened in route with a full car and someone fell out.. etc etc.. so they shut it again. ONLY Then did the local news orgs. start talking about how the company that built it wasn't the lowest bid and that the planning commission had been warned that there were problems with other cities using the same company.

WOW! That monorail thing reads just like the Simpsons episode.

Ogdenville, North Haverbrook, Brockway & now Las Vegas :D
