Affiliate Advice

I'm not sure what to do, so any advice would be appreciated. I've got a small paysite that's been going for about 6 months now. (2minclip.biz) It's mostly my original content with some bought stuff. I work on it about 6 hours a week (I have a full time job plus other obligations). I would like to get into some related niche affiliate programs but I don't actually have the time to submit to TGP/MGP's all day. I'm with adultsallowed so I could start my own affiliate program but the payout would only be $7.00 per signup. I don't know if anyone would do it for that. Anyone got any ideas?

it really wouldn't be worth it to gain affiliates at $7 a signup. Your bottom line would suffer too much. If you can afford 2 hours a night you can submit to all the worthwhile tgps to get a sales boost or you could hire someone who specializes in submissions to take care of the task for you.

Where can I find a list of TGP's? It seems like so many of them are fake or only take submissions from partners. Some won't give me a partner account because I don't submit enough.

If your site is good enough you might find a few affiliates willing to give your program a try, but it's not likely. Maybe if you promote it yourself for a while and start earning more money, you could open your site on your own and pay more. Good luck with it. :)

Would you be paying out $7 per sign up or $7 recurring?

raul 2004-11-17 12:13 PM

Recurring. Actually, I can set the amount, but my pay is $14.00 per signup, recurring. What do you think? Maybe I should just hire someone to submit or try to do it myself. I would like to find a decent list of sites to submit to. I think that would help. Maybe get a submitting program or something. I just know I need to do something.

why don't you just raise the price to 19.95 and get a few webmasters to promote as well as do your own TGP submissions. to build a list you could start from any major tgp and follow his/her's link trades to build a good list.

I know that you probably feel as though nothing is falling into place but once you get a decent amount of tgp recips gathered you will see things starting to come together and your submits will go faster. all in all, you'll see a return on your time spent.

Are you submitting to link lists as well and picposts as well? Also, dable a bit in SE and learn how to harvest traffic form google and yahoo.

I can't change the price. The surfer pays 24.95 and I get 14.95. Adults Allowed keeps the 10 bucks but gives me free hosting. I also have another site with them and they provide free content also. I guess I'll try to submit more on my own. Is it worth getting a submitting program is just better to do it by hand?

aaah I see. if you do use a submit program do NOT use it in auto mode. I suggest you go by hand though as there is less chances of any mistakes. once you get to know all the sites you may want to use a program to speed up the form filling but really, as I've learned, roboform is just as good.

What do you think about sponsors. I was thinking of putting up a portal site with some sponsors and my own sites. I still have the traffic problem though, but atleast I have a better chance of a sale.

You should realy consider getting your own hosting & an account with CCBill or Epoch - hosting is cheap & 40% is highway robbery for processing.

I thought about that, but I think the fact that the surfer gets access to all their sites with the membership is a good selling point. My site is not that big that I could retain them by myself. I also don't live in the US so I don't know if that would matter or not. Do you know anything abour Dee Cash? I think his "Asian Massage" site would go good with mine.

7$ could be good if your ratio 1:100

Doesn't sound like free hosting to me.

I have to agree - depending on your residence you can get CCBill EU processing.
