Submissions ignored

I've been submitting free sites for about 3 months now and I keep a record of the acknowledgements, acceptances, rejections etc. that I receive from the LL's. The biggest category belongs to the sites that completely ignore me. I understand that many LL's get swamped by submissions and I don't expect automatic acknowledgements so I check these LL's to see if any of my sites have been listed. A lot of them have listed me . Fair enough. But a lot haven't. No names, I'm not trying to start a war - there's no law to say that submissions have to be replied to. But my reaction after 3 months is to replace these LL's with others. What do other members think - is 3 months too little time.Should I Email the sites to ask what I've done to offend? Do some LL's just not give a shit? Its difficult to know and any guidance would be appreciated.
Cheers,

3 Months is more then enough time .If they aren't listing you then you should remove them from your submit list.
Search for new ones to add and then look at them down the road and do the same thing.

Some LL send emails some dont it just depends on the LL

I'm not sure if you're talking about me or not, but if you are, just look 2 days after you submitted & if it's not listed by then, post here & we'll get it sorted out :)

Blue Wave's script sends out an acceptance email automatically when the reviewer accepts a site. Rejection emails are optional. I send rejection emails when my reason for rejection is something repairable. If we've been rejecting any of your sites and not sending a rejection email, the most likely reason was your content. If any of you have a question about why we did not accept a site, you can email the webmaster or post your question on this board with some example URLs and I will respond to those.

I domy best to tell everyone that they have been added, Im still stuck in the dark ages and do this by hand - easiest way is to check your stats to see if you have any clicks on the free site and who sent them.

I do see your point, but its sometimes best to submit and forget just my 2 cents worth

My script automatically sends both acceptance and decline emails. As a freesite builder, if I've submitted 5+ sites to a link list and none are listed after 5-6 weeks, that LL falls into the "waste of my time" category and they're replaced with someone else. My submit list is about 80 LLs, and every couple weeks I end up dropping at least 3 or 4 and replacing them.

As the owner of a pretty new LL, I'm happy to submit to smaller/newer sites that don't send much traffic just to keep my Karma good...especially those owned by people who post here. It's good for SE placement in the long run (more backlinks), and good for the community.

I've had to drop some MAJOR LLs from my submit list recently because they simply won't list my sites. Dunno why...doesn't really matter all that much, since the LL traffic I get speaks for itself and I won't spend the time to completely revise my method of site building to try and get listed one or two more places.

If the LL owner posts on this board, it's always a good idea to post your sites for some feedback. If you've got no reasonable way to contact them then your options are limited.

In short, a freesite builder's submit list is a living, breathing thing that needs to be revised regularly. If they're not listing you, and 90% of the other places you submit are, drop them and don't look back.
