US Tomahawks
The (all-conqering!) Australian Rugby League team plays the US Tomahawks sometime today/tommorrow.
You guys/gals should have a look and check out one of "our" 'football' games.... We just beat the Pommies 44-4 so it should be a whipping :D DD |
I like the guy with the funny hat :D

Yeah that first half was shocking....
... I think the aussies realised they wouldn't be let back into the country if they lost it.. :D DD |
I really believe if the US were to ever start getting pros into the sport instead of these part-timers they have right now that it would catch on here
Of course most of these "soccer moms" probably wouldnt let little Johnnie get into it cause of the roughness - and then the US congress would make it a law that players would have to wear all kind of protective gear and the game would go to the shitters anyway - shame cause its really more like what I remember real football to be like when I was growing up and we played tackle football without any protection Course we skateboarded and rode our damn bikes without stupid helmets too - guess we just didnt have any sense of safety - but it sure was fun - and besides they didnt even think of safety gear for kids till I was a grownup - (bout the same time someone started saying parents shouldnt paddle kids) - oops I feel a rant coming - better stop right here |
I don't think many Americans realize how rough and aggressive real soccer is. It's a wonderfully vicious sport where you have to be a bit more cunning to get your blows in. I had a cousin who played for his college and the first time I went to one of his games I was shocked. Those guys are real bastards to each other.
