OUCH -- My Neck!!
I was just taking a shower and I kind of cricked my neck. I sometimes crack it like some people do knuckles. Anyway, got a shooting pain right up left side of my neck, right into my head.
I literally cannot turn my head to the left because of the pain. And looking up is likewise agony. I've basically got my chin on my chest, facing to the right. Like this I'm not in too much pain. What a fucker!! |jester| I hate doctors and hospitals, so I'm gonna leave it until tomorrow. If it hasn't eased up anyway, then I'll make a trip to the hospital. :( |
Would you Please stop hurting yourself, Kristian?!?! |knockout|
Hope it clears up quick, man. I hate getting a crick in my neck. |

Moist heat is the best thing get back in the shower and run the water as hot as u can on it :)

I'm gonna try that tho right now :) |
What MML said, or just take a hot bath. That usually loosens me up :)
If that doesn't work, go to a chiropractor. The only thing a regular doc will do is give you some painkillers. |
You could also take a large bath towel and soak it in water, wring it out a bit so its not dripping and put it in the microwave. Get the towel hot in the microwave and then when its down you can put it around your neck for moist heat. That works really well.

Right, first off, thanks guys for your suggestions. Another shower has helped and I was about to try the moist heat suggestion when april came home from shopping.
She's got me this ingenius little device. Cura-Heat they're called. You basically stick this pad to your clothing over the affected area (in my case, a scarf round my neck), and the air activates it. It produces non-medicinal, fragrance free heat for 12 hours. I'm hoping this baby does the trick. I was hoping to get laid tonight :D |

The real way to do it is take either painkillers or muscule relaxers.
That way you can move your neck and loosin up the tight musculel. The less you move it the tighter it stays. |

Well, this sucks.
Too painful to lay down so looks like I'm not getting any sleep tonight. |
Neck and/or back pain sucks. There's no comfortable way to sleep without some kind of meds. Even over the counters can help if you don't take them often regularly...depends on if it's muscles or joints that are causing the pain.
I hope it feels better soon.|peace| |
