I'm assuming its on another machine and you can't boot it up.
I don't know if this will work but its worth a try.
There are linux distros that can run from a cd and booot you puter up.
Maybe you still got a chance but you might want to get someone that knows puters
I know this works from cd i tried it never played with it though it has recovery tools on it though

What does it have?
Damn Small Linux has a nearly complete desktop, including XMMS (MP3, and MPEG), FTP client, Dillo web browser, links-hacked web browser, spreadsheet, Sylpheed email, spellcheck (US English), a word-processor (Ted-GTK), four editors (SciTe, nVi, Zile [emacs clone], and Nano [Pico clone]), graphics editing and viewing (Xpaint, and xzgv), Xpdf, emelFM (file manager), Naim (AIM, ICQ, IRC), VNCviwer, Rdesktop, SSH/SCP server and client, DHCP client, PPP, PPPoE (ADSL), a web server, calculator, generic and GhostScript printer support, NFS, Fluxbox window manager, games, system monitoring apps, a host of command line tools, USB support, and pcmcia support, some wireless support. which lsass bug are you referring to? lsass.exe is a required process as it runs the winlogon process for authentication

there are a few virii and trojans that exploit an old vulnerability in it but there are patches at Microsoft to get rid of that hole - but I would first get a bootable disk with a virus/trojan checker and verify your system is clean first - then report back here please :)

Thank you all for your help -

I formatted - I figured the time I was going to spend would be better spent doing other things.

Its a shitty thing but thats life and one of those things which we have to deal with online

ouch the bootable would have got you in the system to clean it up and you would have lost nothing
