Well the Rat Bastard Came and Went

GW flew into San Diego to give a speech in Camp Pendleton today
I just caught him getting on Air Force 1 to get the hell out of here. The news reporter was commenting on the fact that he was running an hour ahead of schedule like that was a good thing
How in the Fuck could he be ahead of schedule? 6,000 Sailors and Marines left San Diego this morning bound for his war in Iraq, Many had family in from out of town to see them off, He could of spent a little time with those families.
Over 200 Camp Pendleton Marines have died in Iraq, that's a whole bunch of spouses and children he could of spent a little one on one time with. He could of spent that hour lieing to Marine Brats in one of the schools populated by mostly marine kids
Navel Hospital San Diego has admitted 9,250 Marines wounded in Iraq, There's several thousand boys laid up in the hospital right now that will never hop skip and jump again and the rat bastard couldn't be bothered to swing a few minutes out of his way
Shake a few hands and say something like "Thank You I hope I didn't fuck you up for the rest of your life for nothing"|sad|

For alot of us, these wars and their casualties are just numbers on the TV or radio. Makes you realize just what is going on over there when you can see it first hand for yourself.

I only hope we figure out a way to get ourselves out of this mess someday. I supported the war at the time, but now, it's a fucking disaster and we're being made to look like incompetent fools around the globe for going into a country that really was not a threat to anyone anymore and not being able to get it under control. :(

All of my great-uncle's (4) served in WW2 and thankfully made it home alive, but it stayed with them their whole lives, and that war made sense. I can only imagine how our soldiers must feel now coming home from this.

Hey TP - did his visit take over basically every media outlet (TV, radio, Newspapers, etc) for basically the entire day?

When he came to Buffalo a couple months ago, every fucking TV & Radio station covered the event - even the silly morning shows soouted off aobut him for a couple hours.

As if we have to drop everything that we're doing because his plane lands |angry|

Not much I can say. I will just continue to hang my head in shame.

Yup he preempted everything and it's not like it was a slow news day in San Diego
1, A Battle group deployed yesterday (San Diego is a Navy/Marine town a deployment is usually very well covered)
2, Anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor (Their were two ceremonies in town, the number of living survivors is getting pretty small
3, A Swordfish Boat went down Saturday night 50 miles off point Loma
Coast Guard called off the search both men presumed to have gone down with the boat (this one really hurts the boat was from my marina)
4, Dick Murphy sworn in as Mayor
Donna Frye wife of legendary surfer Skip Frye and Surf Store owner, was damned near elected Mayor of San Diego off of a last minute write in campaign

it's kind a sad that everytime you see something like tragedy or war and there are a lot of people especially children died with this kind of casualties you realize that it's not fair. thank god that were still alive.
