new to Board/Industry

Hello everyone. I just wanted to stop in and post a hello to you all.

I am new to the board and to the industry itself. I am working with Detour Interactive and will be posting a lot on the ‘spam’ board for our clients. I will try to check in here as well to see what’s going on every now and then. I didn’t want to start posting before I said hello though…LOLOL!

I also know that some of you post on other boards as well. Please understand if you see this thread other places. I have been hired to post on all 70 some industry boards so I will be everywhere…

1 - you said "hello" here 2 months ago (Oct 12)

2 - Make sure all you hired spam spots go where they belong - here:
http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...p?s=&forumid=6

3 - Clean up your sig file.

I will say it take guts to post that you're a paid spammer :D

Burrrrrrrrrr Cold!

Coming from mainstream, when distributing press releases for clients we called it marketing...but hey, now I know...writing and distributing press releases for webmasters is called spamming.

Good to know! Thanks for the heads up!

Ohh and sorry for the sig, being a |newbie| to all of this there are plenty of lessons to learn.

Great board though, I have totally enjoyed reading through everyones threads, even if I did have to throw on a sweater from the oh so chilly replies on this thread! |roses|

welcome to GG&J Kay! goodluck on your promotion but make sure you remember what Greenguy said.;)

RawAlex 2004-12-13 04:30 AM

Kay, distributing press releases isn't spam. Posting to every WM board in the world with the same message IS spam.

If you want to do press releases, there are ways to do them. Contact places like AVN, XBiz, and a few others, they accept actual real press releases.

otherwise, post in the spam / promotional areas and see what happens.

If you intend to participate in discussions, you might find that is a better way to actually promote your products.

I'm not trying to be cold, just trying to be realistic :D

You can submit all the Press Releases that you want via the link on our Adult Webmaster News & Announcements page.

Please note that there is also a link to the page that has our recip buttons & link info:
http://www.greenguysboard.com/resour...nkbuttons.html
We're not some sort of legit news agency, so a recip is required :)

As far as posting them here on the board, that's why we have the Products and/or Services offered forum :D

Let me give you some advice from a 50 year old salesmen that's sold everything from Advertising to Vacation Packages
There are three parts to a sale
1, Bonding and Repore: You have to give the prospect a reason to trust you (within seconds of walking into an office I will have something to B.S, with the prospect about that we both have in comin)
2, Wants and Needs Analysis: Do you have a product or service that the prospect needs or wants (you need to save him, make him or give him time, money, or enjoyment)
3, The close: This is what I can do for you, pay me

Dude if you skipped steps one and two on 70 boards I'ld say you should be paying your boss becouse the way your going about this is costing him.

Well said.

And I have to agree - it does take some guts to admit that you are paid to post... unless you don't understand how the biz works - then that's more naive/ignorant than gutsy.
