How do you start a link list?
 

Hello guys. If I want to start a LL what should be the first things I should pay attention to? Can somebody provide such information or lead me to the right articles?

I think most people were busy with the contest :D

What did you have in mind? A general link list with all the popular categories? A niche link list (which would probably have categories as well, but only those that fit into the niche)

You'll need a script to run it (well, technically you don't, but it makes things a hell of a lot easier) I use Link Admin & I love it.

Man - I really should write up an article for this - LOL

I do not believe there are specific articles on creating a LL , but i could well be wrong... Have a quick search at Google.

There are a number of threads here about starting an LL. - So search at GGandJ too.

Also be aware running a LL is not a 5 min job... it is an "every day" job, and working and fixing and tweaking your LL is a non-stop process..

1st it's not about getting an answer ASAP :) It's because I thought that it's not a good place to ask, sorry if I bothered you.

GG I think I'm going to code my own backend, so that I can swiftly modify, customize and expand it's code, etc. However using other tools as a software backbone is always part of the process (why figure it out, when somebody did it already).

I see it like this - one niche LL for general submissions and one LL with my personal sepcial selection, so only the 1st one will be accepting submissions. Let me know if you think there's a meaning in such a beginning.

Don't do it unless you want to spend more time tweaking and adding features than doing stuff that actually makes you money. Of course it's convenient to have done it yourself and know how it works, but it takes a lot of time. There's scripts out there that doesn't cost a fortune and will do everything you want a script to do.
And it doesn't take a few days to make a solid script, trust me :)

well...Looks like soon will be more LL owners than posters :)
