CTR % on different SE rankings?
Anybody knows how much % click on the different SE rankings on average?
I know that this varies a lot but I mean if a keyword gets for example 1000 searches a day, what do you think how many will click on #1,2,3.... and especially on the #10 spot? I just need to / would like to know an average % from your experience because I'd like to calculate something. |
Jeka,
I spose someone may have down the research... but if they have.. they may not want to tell you... I have not seen definitive figures on this anywhere. Truisms: Top 10 listings - (default number of listings for most search engine) - is where the traffic is #1 - (if the title etc correspond to the search) will get the most traffic. #10 - (if the title etc correspond to the search) will get the least traffic. Speculation/Educated guesses - If the surfer searches for "teen pussy" and the #1 result says "big gay cocks" - then they aint gonna get the click thrus :) - Many believe a ranking at 2-4 is better than #1 - based on the adage that the buyer won't buy at the first place they see. - click thrus dont always equal sales.. Dependent on the keywords your market can vary markedly - eg free vs non-free KWs - being ranked top 30 is still good for the hardened seacher will find you once they get past the spam - sites that return "xxx KW get xxxx searches a day.." are showing you averages and estimations.. Just cuase theoverture tool says "dwarf transvestite gay asians" gets 10,000 searches a day... doesnt mean that it actually gets that many every day. .and they may be including searches for "dwarf transvestite gay asians in nappies" in the results. Hows that for a long answer that doesnt answer the question :D In truth I would not even bother counting searches vs clicks, it would be innacurate, and probably only valid for that day/minute/hour... The stats that count are cheques in the bank. HTH DD |
