Cleo 2004-12-20 08:10 AM

Fuck it is cold out, good morning from not hot South Florida.

I have the plumber coming this morning and then a computer client to see this afternoon.

Need to ingest this coffee…

ngb1959 2004-12-20 08:56 AM

Well I stopped ingesting caffeine about a week ago and had the damn withdrawal headaches. So I drink a cup of coffee this morning and it's amazing how jittery it made me after being off of the caffeine for only a week. Damn, I miss my real diet coke instead of this sissy decaf wannabe diet coke.

It's a brisk 22 F here in MO. Damn, it was freezing this weekend with high winds.

Any sinkholes down your way Cleo? Hope not, you've had enough natural disasters to last a lifetime.

Have a good day all.

Nina

Useless 2004-12-20 08:57 AM

It is a bit cold out there, isn't it. I think the two or so inches of white stuff that fell last night may stick around this time. I have to go back out once again to drag my little underlings to school. Then I can spend the rest of the day staring at my moniter. Woohoo!

Morning all, colder that a witches tit with brass nipples here too...just below zero ATM I believe. Fuck I hate winter. Reminder to self: Become a porn millionaire, take all close friends and move someplace where it never gets below 40, live happily ever after.

Ramster 2004-12-20 09:33 AM

Cleo, cold? What is it...50? That's swimming weather. |jester|

It is -29 (-20 Fahrenheit) here with a windchill of -43. That's fuckin' cold!

Oh good morning everyone!

Cleo 2004-12-20 09:39 AM

It is 50˚ F (10˚ C) with a high expected in the sixties. Much too cold for my southern ass. I will actually have to find a long sleeve top and warm footwear for today.

Yesterday I drove to the gym only to find out for some odd reason they had closed at noon. I thought of biking since I couldn't workout but then thought of almost freezing to death in weather that is only in the sixties.

I guess it is all a matter of prospective. :D

Good morning/day/whatever to you all |roses|

My yard is covered with ice so I don't think I'll leave the house today, who needs a broken ankle?

Greenguy 2004-12-20 09:46 AM

Good Monday Peoples!

I was going to post that it's a balmy -3 F (-19.44 C) here today, but I think that Ramster has officially wrapped up the Colderst Webmaster Award for today :|snowman|

I feel really fat after sitting & laying onthe couch all weekend watching football & eating cookies that The Bitch seems to mass produce ever hour :D

So, aside from a trip to the tread mill, I'll be here watching small wildlife freeze in my backyard |snowman2

Fonz 2004-12-20 09:48 AM

Morning all,

My car looked like a giant ice-cube this morning so I guess it's cold here too. Just have to find a really big glass of Jack to fit that cube in :)
Just took that look back at 2004, a lot of good (and some bad) happened this year. I wonder what next year will bring us.

Cleo 2004-12-20 10:00 AM

I love the sound of a jackhammer first thing in the morning, NOT.

I remember the houses up north were made out of wood. Not the houses down here, all concrete. We don't have a cellar, just a cement slab that the house sits on, and the walls are made out of cement block with poured cement beams. Anything that you want to do to them involves jackhammers and concrete saws.

So as the plumber goes about fitting a new drain for what will become my guest room's shower he has to use a jackhammer to chip away the slab in order to get to the drain pipe and fit a new drain on to it. He has been chipping away at it for two days now.

Our houses are built to withstand a category five hurricane which is great in a hurricane but a real bitch to do work on.

I got a good night's sleep and am up at a normal time!

Extremely cold here today with a 7 and 20-30mph winds which I am sure takes it down to below 0 or better. The screwed up part is my office doesn't have heat like the rest of the house, before my little electric heater worked but I think I am going to have to buy a kerosene heater or something. Not sure why the dumbass didn't put ducts into this entire addition when he put it in originally, but he didn't. I think its because he went to Florida in the winter and didn't care.

I also went and bought some nice snowmobile gear this weekend which even with it this cold I sweat in it, with just a t-shirt on. Its made by Choco , great stuff.

Have a good day.

docholly 2004-12-20 11:17 AM

and i still need to go buy gifts... ummm

RawAlex 2004-12-20 11:56 AM

Well, as is normal, I am getting Ramster's used weather, so it is -40 with the wind chill RIGHT NOW (11 am). -20C air temp, about -10F for you people who think that 32 is a nice number for something to freeze at.

Had to go out this morning to get someone to work, and let me tell you, it ain't just NIPPLY!

If you have a brass monkey, keep it in the house.

Alex

Here in Victoria BC (Vancouver's Island) we have a nice 6 degrees Celcius (43 F) - cloudy as usual... I moved here last year, was in Montreal before... and I got to admit that I somewhat miss the snow for the holidays |santa|

Cleo 2004-12-20 12:03 PM

I gave someone that I dated at one time a place to stay for the holidays after her lover threw her out so that is my one Christmas gift for the year.

I bought myself a new house where the old one stood while living in it so I'm fresh out of funds and energy to buy anyone anything this year. lol

Actually I hate the holidays. I'm not a Christen, a Jew, or any other kind of religion so to me they are this huge inconvenience brought on by plethora of marketing campaigns under the excuse of superstitions festivities celebrations.

New Year's eve is fun sometimes depending on if I end up spending it with friends but really I always really look forward to the 2nd week of January when life returns to normal.
