listings' descriptions

Is there any to the setup of a link on a link list?

Meaning, do surfers tend to click links w/ descriptions more than links with just a title? (or vice versa)

The same with a title with # of pictures?

i.e.

Title - Long description
Title
Title - 18 pics

Has anyone ever found any numbers on this?

I've always had the title linked & then a description after it, so I have no data on which works better :(

I assume it's more useful to the surfer to see a brief description.

I don't have any hard data on it, but it's gotta be more useful to the surfer to have a description. But more important (IMHO) is that the search engines gobble up text and can help you in the serps.
