Linklists and Freesites?

Hello everybody,

I'm pretty new to this board ...hohoho, yes I know, I have already posted my "hello" to here:

http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...179#post111179

here is also where you can read who I am and what my occupation is.

I am attending this board because I think there are many potential customers on this board. NO, I am not just here to make advertisement; as I am a professional SEO I will try to post my knowledge and advice on as many threads on the "search engine board" as possible as long as a post doesn't take me more than 10 minutes.

But first I think I should know a bit more first about FreeSites and LinkLists.

So now it's your part: let me hear.... How does it work, how can it be done, what't the difference between good and bad FreeSites/LinkLists and so on....

Excuse me if I sound rude, but did you just offer us free advice with the potential for more if we pay on a subject that you want us to educate you on 1st?

What happens after 10 minutes? |acid

I'd reply, but it would take more than 10 minutes, after which my hourly rate kicks in. If GreenGuy authorizes my payment I'll start chatting away.

GG: I'd like $60/hour, a company car (an Escalade will do), and I'll need an assistant; someone youngish and busty, but not too busty.
Thanks.

Greenguy, no you don't sound rude at all. Actually I don't expect any personal education and people writing essays for this thread but what would be very helpfull are some links to some tutorials |shake|

And yes, I am trying to help (for free of course) as long as it doesn't take me more than 10 minutes. And I believe that I can help and give advice withing 10 minutes.

And I am trying to get in touch with some fellow webmasters and I think boards are the best for that |waves|

More importantly - is it possible to see an example of your work - Im always interested in SEO techniques, and like to see what people think is good :)

Well, I'll try my best to help you, since that's what I do around here :)

A Free Site, in it's most basic form, is a 4 page site that has a warning page, a main page & 2 gallery pages. There are other variations, but I'd bet that 95% of the Free Sites out there follow that set up.

Link Lists list, among other things, Free Sites. Some link lists still list AVS Sites & most list sponsor Pay Sites as well. Some also list galleries, but for the most part, galleries are listed in TGP's.

I think that a good Free Site is one that follows the rules of the a Link List that it is submitted to AND makes sales becase it's listed.

I think that a good Link List is one that's surfer friendly (because we need bookmarkers & word of mouth) and of course, one that makes sales.

Thanks a lot Greenguy, so what I can see are 2 values of the linklist/freesite "system":

(please correct me if I'm wrong)

1. exchanging exchanging traffic
2. link campaign -> link popularity

so what makes a goog linklist is: linking to good freesites, and to be able to link to the goog freesites the reviewing of the submitted freesites is very important.

and what makes a good freesite is that it's beeing listed/accepted/linked from the linklists.

This is gonna take me more than 10 minutes :D

I started my Link List back in 96 so my intentions we not what they are now. A Link Lists job, as far as Free Site building webmasters are concerned, is sending traffic. FS webmasters build & submit sites based on the Link Lists rules & they then get traffic in exchange for a recip links - it's just another version of a traffic trade.

Now, a Link Lists job as far as the surfer is concerned is to provide a variety of sites (free, avs and/or pay) that the surfer can enjoy. And when I say "enjoy" I mean that the rules of the Link List are usually based on what is a pleasing & not an annoying surfing experience. Every Link List bends their rules for this & that & hardly any hold the sponsors or affiliate programs to their rules.

There are other aspects that have evolved since 96 & SE stuff is one of them, but I never link or not link a site based on it's PR or anything like that. The SE benefits are secondary IMHO. And I don't know too much about the term "link popularity" other than I can look it up over here:
http://www.marketleap.com/publinkpop/

As far as reviews, we get 100-250 a day submitted to us, depending on the time of week & year. Some are automatically deleted (blacklist) & the rest are reviewed by hand. We accept about 30% of them on average (some people can't read or have been given bad info)

And I think I answered what makes a free site a good one :)
