Reggie White - RIP
 

ESPN just reported that football legend Reggie White died this morning from a heart attack at the age of 43.

RIP!! One of the best of all time!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that is a shame :(

i started yesterday on my blog a recap listing PILTF who died this year and now i'll never get a chance. As i was writing about Marlon Brando, i was thinking gosh i still have 7 days to go, i should really wait.

Now i'll have to add the Rev. Reggie in. He was truly a classy guy!!

Reggie was a great player, no questions asked on that, but for those who thought he was all about “peace and love” off the field, I think you need to be reminded that he HATED homosexuals with passion.

He has made several comments that all gays will burn in hell and that he would run any player on his team that he HEARD was gay, off the team and out of the league.

I think it’s sad to lose a life at a young age and leaving a family, but his hatred should not be ignored so he can be turned into a saint since he died even for all the good he has done in this world, his hate did worse

Anyone can talk or express their so called "2 cents" AFTER a person is dead. I wonder how "talkative" you all would have been had he been standing in a room with all y'all flapping your mouths as you have after he's died! LOL!

As much as almost any death is sad, I'm with Torn. I'm am by no means a sports fan so yesterday's news clip of the angry reverend spouting his hate for gays is all I know of the ironically name Mr. White. So my thoughts were more along the lines of 'no big loss'. I'm sure he was a hell of a player, but he didn't sound like much of a human being.

And rex, you're right. I wouldn't have told Reggie that he's big idiot homophoebe to his face. That's just common sense. Some people have a target 'fighting weight'. I have a target 'running weight'.

I never thought for a minute my comments would provoke you to want to "duke" it out so to speak. So, perhaps one day, we will meet and let's let the chips fall where they may, agreed? |knockout|

As far as Mr. White is concerned, I just felt it was very poor taste to comment negatively about a man that had just passed away. And I still do, whether he was a homophobe or anti-whitesocks with black shoes or whatever.

Let the man rest in peace and be a grown up about it. For that matter, let ANY man or woman of any creed, color or orientation rest in peace when they have passed on.

Nobody is perfect, Mr. Torn and one day our turn WILL come up. Would you appreciate it if someone "out" there began to call you a "sweater tying over the shoulder fool" AFTER you have passed away? I think not.

And finally, "HATE" is a terrible emotion, concept, and way of life. Hate makes all those that embrace it, less human, and certainly less compassionate. And besides, none of us are in a position to judge anyone for whatever reason.

Since its so close to a NEW year and since it is the season for resolutions, I resolve to this: To hate HATE, and not to judge anyone of any kind. |peace|
