Templates - People Get a Clue!
 

This is my rant, there are many like it but this one is mine...

NOTE: This is not directed at anyone here at GG&J, merely a chance to voice my general frustrations. :)

I am the MrMaryLou of Mishi's xxxgoodstuff.com - I do all the submission reviews.

I am soooo fucking sick of people using the same friggin template over and over and over again. I've gotten so cranky about it I've begun banning people. Yes, I'm a bad man. |angry|

It is so simple. I know this has been covered over the past 4 years at least 200 times, but I guess it bears mentioning again...

People! Build Thirty (30) templates. Use One per day and rotate them over the course of the month. I don't mind, and I don't think most reviewers will either, if you do this. But submitting the same cookie-cutter bullshit layout every single stinking day drives me fucking nuts. I try to be fair. I try to cut people some slack. But holy hannah it's getting out of hand.

Templates are good, they free the WM up to optimize their work. However, using the same template over and over and over every day isn't how it works.
Surfers will see the trend and ignore your ads. You make Zero bling.
LL owners see the trend first and get sick of it and ban you, so your efforts to add their recip is wasted and if you change your recip table you'll get delisted and/or banned by the sites that originally listed you. Again Zero profit.

If you allow comments on reviews (and why wouldn't you on LL submissions?) I will tell you exactly why you got denied and if you follow up I'll give you a personal response.

OK, I just had to vent that out or else Mishi was going to have to smack me upside the head with a cast iron skillet.

I have all my templates, but still for the most part end up tweaking the pages for every site I build, so hopefully most of them look fresh, but opening my own LL has opened my eyes to a whole new world of terrible freesites lol.

Hope you feel better now you've blown your load so to speak.

BTW, 1 good thing has come of this, I just added you to my submit list. Hmm, well at least I hope you'll find it a good thing ;)

That goes double for me.

I still have relitively small categories so It doesnt do me or them any good to have the same templet put into the same category day after day.

Wow, dont they get a clue when they see a decline reason "Overused Template" or whatever?? Yikes..

Nope!

Remember, many webmasters don't read the return mail - doubly so for those autosubmitting / aided submitters who use programs that capture the mail for them.

They don't give a shit. They are turning out volume, not quality or even caring what you think.

Ban them and move on. It's easier.

Holy shit this is right up my alley because I am so friggen up to here with templated sites! I have also had it up to here with FS using the same dam content over and over agian. First they will call it teen then they will call it mature, it's the same friggen content set. I have e-mailed them and they still do it....so I have been banning and moving on! Man it is so cheap to buy content now a days, or get a sponsor with alot of content and use their's. I know some LL won't accept you but there are many that will.|angry|
