Why don't more sponsors make free sites???

I gave up on Tgp's long ago.
TPG traffic may be large, but conversions and retainment suck, and we're supposed to be in this together on partnership right?

Why don't more sponsors make free sites?

If you're a sponsor, I would like a reply!

Greenguy 2005-01-13 12:31 PM

We've touched on this a couple times in the past - one big reason is that, like you said, us Link List owners don't have the big numbers that TGP's have & thus, we sorta overlooked :(

Another thing that I do hate is that some of the ones that do decide to do Hosted Free Sites have their current Hosted Gallery designer make them & they are not what Link Lists owners want to list.

Cleo 2005-01-13 12:32 PM

I wish more did too.

I also wish that a few of them that do would make ones that I can actually use.

Yeah, sorry about that, I've been away for just about a year :(

I am listing nearly ALL sponsors you have listed in the GG and Jim sponsors area. Which is very cool.
If I need to fill a category, it only takes seconds. (recips or not - it fills the category)

As far as the traffic numbers?
I realize that.
But hey, have at it sponsors, and when they close down your accounts for chargebacks, don't look at me :)

2mmy 2005-01-13 01:27 PM

Soon there will be a sponsor with freesites in niches where there isnt nearly any ;)

Yes, but you've got BIG SERPS, that are surely worth the effort of bulding some listable hosted free sites, I think.

stuveltje 2005-01-13 05:32 PM

well you can make nic quick free sites of the free hosted galleries i like that|violin|

Cleo - I could be wrong, but I think stuveltje was saying that the sponsor could easily take their existing HG's & throw warning & main pages in front of the to make HFS's :)

stuveltje 2005-01-13 05:46 PM

yep thats what i ment so cleo dont hit me right away will ya!!!
bad cleo , maybe you think i am stupid .but believe me i am not!!!
i am just chinese this late i am already from 4.30 thi morning on the net and its now 11.50 evening here|skull|

Cleo 2005-01-13 05:50 PM

Oh ok, I she meant for us to take two HG and make a free site out of them.

But still I've seen sponsors that look like they have taken two random galleries and have thrown them together for a free site. :(

i agre with that and i dont like that either.

Sponsors should try writing an unique title and description for ever site that they make. Only when you do this do you understand how important it is to give the site a theme.

It is also nice to put this on the site itself as it helps with the SEs.

It is also nice and makes things easier for us adding them in.

stuveltje 2005-01-13 06:05 PM

i have to say the ready tgps or tpgs what ever, i like the most, i put them in frames and non frames and the ses likes that even build an pr on them, its an easy fake tgp hub whitout worring about updating that|violin| i am more on the look for ready stuff at sponsors .....i dont have time to build free sites and i dont like to build free sites anymore my last one was months ago already

So, you could tell us (submitters) to take a hike, right?

;)

That explains why there are few sponsors with hosted freesites.

Ramster 2005-01-13 11:00 PM

A site title and a theme are need for sure. Many use a theme but you can't find a title anywhere, just flashing graphics.

Keyser Soze 2005-01-13 11:15 PM

I wrote a sponsor and asked if they were interested in getting some free sites made for them for a very low price but they weren´t interested.
This is a sponsor that use a lot of money on advertising if they had used a little of that to make up some free sites they could have had most link list owners sign up for their program.

dareutwo 2005-01-14 12:39 AM

Hmmmm - Interesting to say the least.

So, whack them with crap traffic, that apparently is what a majority of sponsors want.

All along I was a fool to believe that filtered and targetted SE traffic produced more $$ per click, my bad.

Off to burn some bandwidth..... j/k.

Greenguy 2005-01-14 12:46 AM

A lot of traffic makes my penis seem bigger :D

ecchi 2005-01-14 12:49 AM

OK, as a sponsor I have the answer to the original question ("Why don't more sponsors make free sites? If you're a sponsor, I would like a reply"). I think answering is going to make me unpopular, but you wanted to know.

I started to create free sites for my affiliates to use about a year ago, then a thought crossed my mind "Why am I doing this ? " If I supply the content, create the sites and host them for for my affiliates then why the**** do I need to pay them any commission? In fact why do I need them at all? I am doing all the work.

Short answer to your question, you want to make some money, you do some work.

Jeez

dareutwo 2005-01-14 01:05 AM

ecchi-

Exactly that - thank you, and remind me not to sign up for your programs.

Looks like enough said here.

That's fine, and when you get to over 500,000 free site reviews, give me a call. We can do lunch.

That doesn't make sense. The same can be said about Hosted Galleries.

Hosted Galleries are more popular because there is more traffic. That's the simple anwser.
