Goog,Yhoo and MSN against blogspam
Seems this time they really are doing something about it - at least that will be the perception of the people that have been crying about it |jester| - Comment spamming is big biz and this wont effect most of the good spammers as they know how to get to the right blogs
http://blogs.msdn.com/msnsearch/arch...llow_tags.aspx Is MSNs blog about the issue basically Goog, Yahoo and MSN as well as the blog companies will begin supporting a new tag to be put in an outgoing link that will devalue the link in the SE's eyes. rel="nofollow" attribute tag is the tag they are announcing |
Too little too late as usual.:(
but a step forward I spose... DD |
Well - it will silence most of the whiners that ran blogs and didnt know how to run the comments area properly

Hehe true..

I never figured out why Google and all allowed their algos to put so much weight on "opinion" sites to start with. Making a blog site into a "trusted source" is like making the national inquirer out to be the most honest newspaper in the world.
It's just not right, and obviously not too intelligent. If they find a page with the word blog in the title, metas, or first paragraph, they should ignore all the links off that page. That would solve so many issues! Alex |
.. but they own Blogger... and giving them more weight is an easy way to increase their own traffic share and revenue...

Exactly why they had to do it - they own it - as well as MSN and Yahoo owning their own now
Here's the other blog co. that went in with them on this collaboration http://www.sixapart.com/log/2005/01/..._for_nof.shtml |
