Question about warning page (not free site!)

I just bought a domain + hosting and I just began wondering - should I have a warning page as front page for my site? It's not a LL nor a TGP and the main site will just list sponsors, the sites I build and links to other sites. So do you normally make a warning page for a site like this or what?

Btw new site is www.hentai-pussy.com, right now it has a warning page, which I of course could put a lot of links on too, but I wanna hear what you think about this before doin' that :)

It is a place to put some ads and tell people what your site is about so sure.

ynuahayt,

It's your choice... Think about where the surfers going to the site are coming from.. have they been warned already?

Well hopefully they are coming from a Search Engine, and I guess they haven't had a warning there, even though they can see in the SE that it's a porn site from the text + they shouldn't get my site in their results unless they search for some porn keywords :)

OR they might be coming from another adult site that links to me.

Conclusion: I don't think I need a warning page O_o
But then again, it's extra ad space...think I will have to sleep on this one or see some more opinions.

Two of the most knowledgable folks on the board have replied. Since you are going to sleep on it, consider this quote:

I also register my adult domains with http://www.icra.org and use their meta tag so that my pages get caught in parental filters. Plus this one: As long as we openly provide material which could be interpreted as obscene by some, no matter how much others enjoy it, we walk the legal tightrope.

Due diligence.

I am surprised you did not know that all adult sites are under the watchful eyes of the Justice Dept. and local authorities. I am a retired Adult store partner/mgr. and am well aware of how close those of us in the adult business are being watched. I happen to have made friends with some of the best lawyers in the business over the 18 years I was in the regular retail business and had conversations with one of them when I decided to go into the internet adult field. His advice was sound and thorough. All my domains contain a index warning, agecheck page, ICRA meta tags and a script with cookies that will bounce any underage surfers provided that they have not turned off the ratings in their brower preferences and/or entered false birthdate.

Take a look if you want at the following sites to see how I do this.
http://www.pantydelights.com/
or
http://www.sexymaturedames.com/

You will see a FPA money bar with links which are dead end at the sponsor site which leaves it up to the sponsor to provide age check. They have not entered my site by trying one of those links which only link to a sponsor site.

It is all about due diligence.
