My Spouse Might Become A Webmistress (Some Questions)

Briefly, my girl is considering becoming an adult webmistress. She has a background in advertising and has her own businesses (some folks know that she's just setup a movie vending franchise here in Shropshire...and used me as grunt labor, I might add).

Anyway, if she began online, my main question is how this might affect both of us when it comes to submitting sites / galleries to tgps / link lists. She will have a different IP (I'll get another phone line put in at home for her) but it will obviously be very close to my own IP. I remember Ramster mentioning how scammers are apt to do this and you can tell by looking at the almost identical IPs.

It seems almost absurd that April could not do the same work as me but tgps (primarily) are quite unforgiving and have some bizarre rules.

What do you folks think?

If it was me, I'd set her up with a different broadband provider on the new phone line. BT, Wanadoo, Tiscali, NTL, Zen Internet, Pipex..... they all have differing IPs.

Hey urb, haven't spoken since Christmas, hope you had a good one. :) That's a good suggestion. I'm with tiscali so I'll probably hook her up with bt (because I'm sure they have a nice 2mb package). Thanks. :)

Hey kristian, :)

A lot of BT broadband IPs tend to start with 217.
A lot of Tiscali IPs tend to start with 80.
So you'll have no problems.

I'm picturing whole herds of submissive dolls doing unspeakable twisted acts of perversion at the Kristian household of Barbies gone bad.

The keyword here being 'thinking'. Most of us 'know' that you are.

When you said your wife was going to be a webmistress I half-expected to see naked pics of her here. Oh well. Guess I'll have to keep enjoying the ones I already have.:D

j/k - I deleted them a long time ago. |pink

j/k - I still have them.

Good luck! :)

My hubby went back to a real job because we were told that we couldnt both submit a site per day! Especially if you have the same sponsor codes. Maybe if things are changed I can get him to come back to work with me.

Marker and I have alsway ran seperate businesses from the same house (different IP's but close) and its never been an issue.

Although Mark has moved more into mainstream now and doesnt submit free sites any more, when we were both concentrating on the adult side of life we just did different aspects of industry... one of us may be doing free sites, the other working on SE pages or TGP's. Might be a chance for you to diversify!

I was hoping you'd add something here. :) Working in different adult arenas would certainly solve the problem. Trouble is, I'd like April to have free reign to do whatever she likes. The more I think about it, the more I think fuck it. If site owners have a problem, to hell with them. :)

Hi Natalie,

I think at the very least one of you could submit free sites, the other galleries, then maybe split somr seo work between you. But, honestly, Kezza is right : if you treat it as 2 seperate businesses (phone lines, isp accounts, different people, different sponsors accounts/ progs) I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem. If we start getting banned to buggery next month, I will let you know though :)

You like HL2? Cool. I was gonna wait till I got a new PC...but I don't want a new PC until I move which won't be for a couple months.

So, I may just get a new video card just good enough to run HL2 OK so I can kill you good and dead. :D

I think this is a good way to go about it. Venturi and I both used to try to work together on the free sites, but he sucks at them, so it just made more sense for us to diversify. Now he gets to focus on programming, and I've become "expert" enough on building and submitting that I can make time to work on my pet programming projects without it affecting our work overall. I did make him take over submission reviews, which has worked out wonderfully (for me).

There are so many different avenues available in this line of work, there's no reason at all you can't both be involved without stepping on eachother's work.
