what does a good "hub" include?

Okay, I'm starting a fresh new domain for my freesites. Obviously my hub will have a list of all my sites, and some sponsor links etc.....but what else should I be including?

What do you usually put on your domain's main page? I hope to eventually turn the domain into a 'real' LL in due time....so I should be preparing it for that. For now though, it's just my own stuff.

If you're gonna turn it into a real Link List down the road, then set it up as if it was legit already :)

That's all well and good, but I was thinking more in terms of links. You know, to sites. Web sites. On the interweb.

I must respectfully disagree with your greenness. |bow|

This way of thinking kept me in eternal lala land for many months when I was first submitting free sites, but not ready to start my own LL. I was so afraid of doing it wrong, I didn't do anything. I'm sure I lost an assload of traffic.

IMO: Slap up any old thing. The traffic will come; you can fix it later. Of course you want a decent looking, non-spammy, non-CJ page - but don't worry too much about the design right now.

So, there you have it, beano. You can listen to the successful guy, or listen to me. The choice is yours. ;)

I have changed my main hub about two hundred million zillion times. Whenever I would see a new pretty picture or background, I would add it.

Now I think I have the logo and background I will keep. For now at least.

I finally got it separated into categories. It's not such a clusterfuck any more.

I don't intend to make it into a link list some day though. After reading the threads here about link list submitters, it is best to leave that to the professionals.

As far as what I put on my hub, my sites and sponsor hosted sites, people that I have exchanged links with, webmaster referral links, a cool gaming site and the 2257 info.

I just think that it makes sense that if you're going to turn the site into a legit Link List down the road, why not start it now & get your feet wet while the traffic coming to is it minimal?

If you do something wrong, only a few people will see it instead of a lot of surfers & webmasters seeing the mistakes when it's officially "open"

Besides, most hubs that are not CJ's & full of blind links are basically Link Lists anyway :)

Stop making sense. It hurts my brain. |dizzy|
