Verizon Sucks :)
So, I had my new phones installed this morning. One had the wiring already and one did not. The one with the wiring worked fine this morning and when the tech left, it no longer worked. Verizon tells me that it is my problem within the house and I will need to pay to have them fix it. It doesn't seem to matter that it worked before the tech was here and didn't when he left.

Find the number for the Public Utilities Commission in your local phone book. Call and ask for the person's name that handles complaints regarding the phone company.
Call repair, tell them that this is your third call and you want to speak with a supervisor. When the supervisor gets on the phone, get their full name and contact number. If they decline, ask for their ID # for your records so you can document this for Mary Jane at the PUC. Explain that your phone service was working on one phone but not the other, the Tech came in to fix the second phone, and now the first phone isn't working. You were then told that it was an inside wiring problem and that you would be charged. Since the technician broke it, you feel that Verizon should be responsible for leaving the phone service in working condition. Tell them that you will arrange your schedule so that the technician can get out there today to repair the service. Ask for them to look on the prior ticket to get the ID number of the technician that did the initial service and to have a technician call you within a half hour to schedule a time. My guess is that they will waive the service fees and get a technician out there by COB tomorrow to fix it. Verizon sucks, but didn't you have Nynex before? haha |
DirecTV cable did the same thing with my satellite.
They finally dropped the charges after I bitched a real lot and turned into a real pain in the ass. |
I just got a call 15 minutes ago from Rogers Communications to remind me to pay my last two cell phone bills (CDN $102.00 altogether). I never went over my minutes, these are network charges and other nice hidden fees. The funny thing is I had paid them that amount last week. They don't see the money. Thankfully I have a rceipt.

A repairman just left. It seems when the installer hooked a new box up, he broke the line going into the house. It took the guy 3 minutes to find the problem and another 2 to fix it :)

I seem to remember another broken wire on an installation at one of your houses. :)

Maybe you need to move to a part of the country that isn't so "red" :D
|
Those were backward wires :) Remember, you came in, yanked the box cover off and switched the wires.
|
At least you don't have to climb up on a poll to use the phone. :D

At least now it feels like I live in a real home and work in a real office. A cell phone alone just doesn't cut it for us.
