The 24 hour rule
 

A few of the bigger LL's I submit to have a 24hr script built right in. So, if I submitted at 7:58PM yesterday, I won't be able to submit until 7:59PM today...

Is there any way to change this to a "once per calendar day" system? It would still effectively be once per 24hr, but would give us submitters some leeway in the time of day we submit.

I find I can't always be working on my stuff at the same time as I was yesterday, so I end up submitting later that day.....and then that feeds into tomorrow (gotta wait for today's time +1 minute). This isn't always possible, so I lose a day's submission, which sucks.

If there is any way to change this I would be pretty happy.......in fact I might even dance like this:

Well, what's to stop the people that submit at 11:59 PM & then again at 12:01 AM?

Yeah, but they wouldn't be able to submit again until 12:01 again the next day, and then the same the day after that (12:01am), etc....so even though they could get two sites at once it's still effectively only one per calendar day, right?

It would just give us some flexibility as to what time of day we submit...

it's still one per day whichever way you look at it - and as beano says it's annoying having to wait to a specified time of the day.

And would GG reviewers even notice seeing as you stop at the end of the day?

We stop at the end of the server's day, which I know is not the end of the day for everyone else :D

Good that you brought it up. It bugged me pretty much when I was submitting. How I "got around it" was to only submit 5-6 days. Monday 9am, Tuesday 10am and so on. Then have Saturday and Sunday off to get back to 9am again. It worked.
But to have 1 per calendar day would be the best :)

Us foreigners have a pretty good idea of what time it is there... ie atm it's 7pm on the east coast and 3pm on the west...

I've found this to be an issue as well. I submit M-F now, so if I'm bad and oversleep on Monday, I'm pretty much SOL for the week. ;)

My own link list script doesn't currently have any way to limit submissions, and I've been thinking about how to implement it. I'm thinking I'll let the webmaster set a custom time limit.

I would go with something like 18 hours between submissions; maybe even a bit less. Does that sound reasonable?

I have to say I agree, its pretty anoying that if you submit a site 7pm you have to submit it later the next day and so it continues untill you have to drop 1 day.....

Something like 18 hour limit sounds good. It will not allow to submit multiple sites in short period and at the same time gives webmaters enough room to submit sites daily in their favourite time. Or one submission per calendar day is also acceptable for me.
