Ted Turner Compares FOXNEWS To Hitler
Ted Turner called FOX an arm of the Bush administration and compared FOXNEWS's popularity to Hitler's popular election to run Germany before WWII.
Turner made the controversial comments before a standing-room-only crowd at the National Association for Television Programming Executives's opening session Tuesday. His no-nonsense, humorous approach during the one-hour Q&A generated frequent loud applause and laughter, BROADCASTING & CABLE reports. While FOX may be the largest news network [and has overtaken Turner's CNN], it's not the best, Turner said. He followed up by pointing out that Adolph Hitler got the most votes when he was elected to run Germany prior to WWII. He said the network is the propaganda tool for the Bush Administration. "There's nothing wrong with that. It's certainly legal. But it does pose problems for our democracy. Particularly when the news is dumbed down," leaving voters without critical information on politics and world events and overloaded with fluff," he said. |
I've been thinking the same thing about CNN lately.

You are a proud Republican, aren't you Cleo?

I had (past tense) a friend that was huge fan of the Fox propaganda network. This was is reasoning for why Saddam should have just surrendered to us. "When the big man knocks on your door, you either do what he says or you get a boot up your ass."
He was a bit of a barbarian, but his wife gave great head.:D |
Yeah they are hanging out at the Mandalay Bay this week. It's funny to watch the news covering themselves.
but I was forced to listen to O'Reilly a couple of days ago.. and he was talking about the Michael Jackson case with the definition of adult material, and I wanted to just SLAP his sanctimonious face!! |angry| |

I usually have CNN on but lately they seem so pro Bush to me. I've actually been watching MSNBC more but dislike the fact that they are partnering with Microsoft. All the news is biased in one way or another. |
Same Cleo, I still have CNN on like I have for the past 11 years or so, just use to it “being there”, but I agree they and a lot if not all of the other "liberal media" are way to soft on Bush, dead solders is ok I guess as long as no one got a blowjob or fucked by a cigar.

I don't watch tv news at all, and haven't for years. Been a member of Public Radio for nearly 10 years. I'm in the car anyway.
Not that some stories aren't biased, but they do go out of their way to try not to be. I may catch the local weather and sports, but I normally get that on the radio too. And I have never had a subscription to any newspaper in my life.. lol I wouldn't bet on CNN or TBS talking about PBS or would they? |
Cleo's waiting for the iPoDiscovery Channel :D

W is very war mongering and Fox is more like a propaganda station then a news station these days. I think Ted might be right but has anyone watched Scarborough Country on MSNBC lately? That stuff is just pyscho
|
I have actually tried to watch some of the really biased shows to see what the fuss is about, but I really dont like them, even when I DO agree : /
I like inside politics with judy woodruff for information, and general news for actual information. Opinions I dont give any weight at all to.. even when it's a supposedly well-informed talking head. Just a weirdo I guess |
