Generating traffic.
 

"What are better ways of generating productive traffic to my site?"

This was the question that I asked myself while I was on my way to work today. Submitting free sites/tgps is traffic but its generally traffic looking for free porn, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you convert that traffic.

One of the answers that I came up with on my way to work was search engines, which do deliver very good traffic but you can't really control the search engines and you can't get instant gratification (using white hat seo).

Then I thought to myself, trading traffic.

I've never really been big on trading traffic for two reasons:
A) I've never had what I thought was enough to trade with anyone and
B) I have never had anyone in walmart tell me to go down the street to kmart.


The best thing that I could come up with on my way to work was something that Q posted on another board, "if you build it they will come." Which makes the most sense to me but once again requires time.

Patience is a virtue and hard work pays off BUT what do you do in the mean time?

Another answer that came to me is to give away tons of free porn.

Anyway this was my question that I asked myself today and I figured that this would be a good question to ask the board.

I'm suprised that your sponsors aren't giving you ideas on traffic and how to find it. Seem that they would get the fact that if they helped you and worked more with their webmasters that they would over all make more money. We do it and our webmasters loving it. ;o)

Now about your traffic, you should try making fake tgp sites and listing them arround on the high traffic sites. List your site in a nice area, add a small banner maybe. It has worked for my free gay sites in the past and still brings in a nice little bit of traffic. even though i can't work on it all the time.

I take it your site is free? Best thing to do is work with the long-term objective of increasing traffic per month.

Read some SEO sites and make sure your site is setup correctly.

Submit it to the SEs and as many link lists who will list it.

Network here on the board and get as many link trades as possible. (for SEO purposes, it is best to trade with relevant sites)

Submit your site and galleries hosted on your domain to link dumps (crap traffic but a good way to get link backs).

Top lists are another source of quick traffic.

Whenever you submit a gallery or free site, include a recip to your own main site.

You could purchase traffic. http://www.traffic-out.com/ is $6 per k and the quality is really good. If you have a script like ATX you could be sending that traffic out to trades and building even more traffic to your site.

There are tons of ways to get traffic. Thinking long term and seo would be my top choices.

SEO work is the best thing you can do. You can also try hard link exchanges & traffic trades (are you running a TGP?). Actually, what are you trying to generate traffic to?

I am not a believer in the "if you build it they will come" theory because there are literally millions if not billions of sites on the net and finding yours would be next to impossible without you pushing it out for people to see.

The site that I'm looking to push more traffic towards is somewhat of a blog/review site. My se traffic is picking up but with white hat SEO to really reap the benefits I know that it will take time. No complaints because I can already see the results.

www.blackpornreviews.com is the site. I update the "blog" on a weekly basis but i'm adding sites (freesite submissions/tgps) to the backend of a daily basis.

Just looking for more ways to generate traffic while the site is young.

I see people using adwords if your site has most of your own links and not many leaks.. or like kristian said feeder sites with targeted niches or just bite the bullet and let se traffic build it just takes a long time for some keywords in google it can easily take a year but worth the wait and just keep it..

Try adding as many high PR backlinks as possible(that are rellevant) to your blackpornreviews, make free sites and gallerys and use a sponsor spot for it instead of just a small link at the bottom if you want bigger traffic, but for the SE's it doesnt matter.

Yup, agree, high PR backlinks are coming back in vogue with google now. Plus doing galleries and free sites with links directly to your blog (instead of to a sponsor) is a great way to boost your traffic and your bookmarkers.

also, toplists and picposts can be a good source of traffic, especially with a site like yours that would attract people to bookmark it! I don't know of straight ebony toplists / picposts but I am sure you can find them quite easily (just pretend you are a surfer and whatever you find will be what they find too!)

I think the best way to get traffic is to combine all the possibilities, from TGP's to LL and SE, Toplists, PicPost, Trading and everything you can find to get more traffic.. what do you think of linkdumps...example;

Traffic is always good or our sites would be setting there collecting dust without it.
Traffic is NOT king, (meaning the amount).
Don't count traffic... count what gets deposited into your bank account.
You're in sales :-) If you sell cars.... don't go looking for those seeking boats,
or those at a flea market that are just looking.

One targetted and ready to buy focused hit is well better than 1,000 lookers.

|pokefun| LOL - here in Australia they do that every day... They actually send all their customers to KMart - - - simply because we don't have any Walmart (thank God - we don't need another US chain).

Trading traffic is more like a shoppingmall where everone is sharing the shoppers; if they can't find what they're looking for at their place, they might find it at yours and vice versa.
