How big are your queues?

How many sites do you have on average waiting to review in your queue? Anyone pushing 1,000?
And how many hours do you spend reviewing each day? |help|

Greenguy 2005-01-29 09:24 PM

We review everything submitted the day before, so when the reviewers are doing their thing tomorrow, they will stop when the see the 1st submit after Midnight.

I think we spend 4 or so man hours each day on actual reviews - even more when you throw in the link checking & managing the ads & whatnot.

Kezza 2005-01-30 06:58 AM

Our queues are HUGE... bloody reviewer claimed she had a virus!

Lucky we love her hey!

Linkster 2005-01-30 07:09 AM

Im around the same as GG - except that occasionally Im at the two day behind point instead of previous days :)

Ramster 2005-01-30 09:39 AM

Over 200, I'm about 3 days to list a site. Might get it down to 1 if I feel like one of these days. ;)

Cleo 2005-01-30 09:54 AM

My LL's one is cleared out each day.

My TGP one is 20,000+ and growing by the day. Really a partner account is about the only way to get listed at my TGP unless you are very, very patient. It is a small TGP so tis is pretty amazing how many submits it gets.

Your TGP is listed on Chamelon Submitter... so its no surprise really

Can I have a partner account??? LOL

Linkster 2005-01-30 10:08 AM

Q
Actually mines pretty big - but then like they used to tell us in grade school - its not the size of the wand - its the power of the magician :)

Greenguy 2005-01-30 10:16 AM

You go to school with Harry Potter?

My TGPs were like that before I went partner only - now I get about 5% of the submits I used to get - but what I get is quality.

Oh yeah - I forgot - for you blue collar workers - its not the size of the stick shift, its how many gears she goes through with it :)

Thanks to our massive blacklist, we never go over 100. We have programs monitering the links now. Reviewing stuff takes less time than ever now.

Verbal 2005-01-31 11:05 AM

Yeah, a large blacklist is pretty much necessary if you want to keep submits open to all. But with all the cheaters & autosubmits I'm wondering if it doesn't make more sense to keep a smaller partner list instead. Like they say...quality over quantity.

Verbal - I think most LLs keep some sort of "partner/preferred" list - we just dont advertise too much about it except by private requests. There are so many things you can do with submits before they get to the review que with IP/Whois checking/dupes and multisubmitter checks - that we rarely get over 200 submits a day that make it into the que - after that its a matter of getting it pared down based on content, quality and all the other things that reviewers get paid to do :)
I would say that with the recent sucesses of some LLs with partner accounts, and the increasing fraud and autosubmissions in the last few years, it wont be too long before most LLs get to that point

neticule 2005-01-31 01:19 PM

hmm

my queue is always small, but it seems mostly the trustable people submit. In fact, I think i have only had to decline 5-10 sites in the last 2 months.

One of the reasons is the only place i post my submit url is in my signature here :) thats a good way to get mostly trustable webmasters to submit.

i dont get many submits each day, maybe 10 at each of my linklists, but they are all nice sites, built by nice people that visit this message board, call me weird but i dont like sharing my traffic with people i will never talk to lol, its nice giving traffic only to people from greenguy and jim. |peace|

Marchello 2005-01-31 01:33 PM

Well i'm still small one hehe
i don't really have that problem with queues but like i said i just open linklist for submits

plateman 2005-01-31 06:01 PM

mine is about 65 to 75 a day with a lot of crap and I review almost every day anymore and soon I will have a perfered submitter url to give to the trusted people I know... I know with that it would cut my time in half and review the public submits 2 or 3 times a week and weed out the crap

LowryBigwood 2005-01-31 09:07 PM

I'm about a month and a half behind on my submits, but I plan on catching up soon after i install my new script.

SmithsMedia 2005-02-01 04:42 AM

I have 142 outstanding, Im trying hard to catch up though its not easy. SOme of you may be shocked to learn I dont use any scripts I have to do the lot in by hand in dream weaver.

Im getting mails back saying my sites been listed from some LL - I sent these pages over before summer in some cases which just seems such a long time ago. The bonus is I suppose that at least I still have work to bepublished with some people.

Mishi 2005-02-01 06:23 AM

We're out about two weeks at the moment. Usually it's only a couple of days, but my reviewer *cough* is very busy at the moment. Sorry, folks, and thanks for your patience.

My TGP has about 12,000 sites waiting for approval, but since they're all hosted galleries, I don't think they'll mind. They might make my brain explode, though. |twinkle

Have you considered how much easier your life will be with a script?

Yep, the issue is I dont know how to do serverside technology so I figure its best to focus on what I can do.

Once I get more time and can learn then I may switch. Im debating wheter the use my forum as my main hub as this gets a lot of traffic from Yahoo groups and the like.

Im just a novice who can do a bit of html :-)
