Look what MS applied for a patent for
Looks like MS wants to patent unique idetifier session/user IDs for targetting individuals through its browser - applied for day before yesterday
Patent Might have a few implications dependant on how MS might try to enforce someone else using a similar method |lightsabe |
So what is the diference between this and a cookie?

If this is granted... Well let's say we are screwed.
I know what they are thinking: .NET client side doo-dads. However, this is so vague as to cover all forms of cookies, cookie redemption and ALL forms of ANY kind of program that so much as looks at a cookie. WARNING: This is one to watch. Thanks for the heads up Linkster! Mr. H. Quote:
