Owners of Large link lists

Do you prefer links on index pages of domains more than on directories?

i.e. www.site.com vs. www.site.com/folder/index.html

You only have one root to your domain but lots of folders.

Personally I save the roots of my domains for my own stuff.

I like having my recip on lots of places so I like it on lots of folders.

Would it only benefit you if the site had decent PR?

I really see very little benefit to PR

K, so does it matter to you if a person submits 100 free sites on 1 domain instead of 100 free sites on 10 different domains?

Just curious how that benefits you as a link list.

I don't think it'd matter to me either way - the benefit to the Link List has always been the recip, but I don't think I've ever based a listing on the PR of the site.

You have to remember that, for the most part, these are new sites that people are submitting to Link Lists, so most don't even have a PR...yet :D

So you'd be happy w/ a link on www.site.com/folder/folder/index.html as much as if it were on www.site.com?

I list sites that meet my rules - I rarely look at the URL unless something like a cgi or php thing jumps out at me.

I like the www.rootdomain.com thing because, when I was a site builder, I would get a new domain for every site (which was, of course a part of a much larger project to build a network of sites that kicked butt on the SE's) - but I would list them either way.
