I have a legal question!
 

This is off-topic of the industry but I have a serious issue! I have posted here before about my neighbor issues.
Well now he has a video camera setup pointing at my front door, porch and car which is all private property. he lives directly above me and the camera is in his window pointing out.
I need to know if this is legal so I can proceed legally.

I'm not a lawyer and don't play one on TV but from what I understand this is legal since it is the outdoors and therefor public property that is being watched.

that is my understanding too, kind of like why the papparazzi can make so much money off of stalking famous people (unfortunately the laws in this country don't usually protect you until you have been done physical harm :( )

The video is not on public property or even video taping public property...it's pointed at my door, and front porch area which is private property 100%.

He is also recording audio which I know is against the law, but this video thing I am trying to figure out.

I don't think there is a problem with video taping someone as long as there is no sound. Then it gets into wire tapping laws. I know that the laws are out of date and they are being changed unless they have already. Something like a piss cam in a toilet...It's ok because there is no sound.

It's perfectly legal. I would suggest that you have him brutally beaten, if I was the type of guy who thought that pounding some useless motherfucker's sick skull into the pavement solved things.

Call the police. Though they may not be able to do much, they may find it interesting enough to stop and chat with the guy. You need to start taking charge of the situation and show this guy that you will not be intimidated that you will not be his willing victim. If you don't have the support network to help deal with someone menacing you in this fashion, you need to move.

Get your own camera & point it at him.

Another good way to piss him off is to get a motion detector light - one of those big ones with 2 150 watt bulbs in it. Then point it at his front door, so every time he walks outside at night, he gets hit with a a large amount of light :D

I understand that you're a hot babe and all but have you asked why he has the cameras there? Papparazzi can get a way with some terrible stuff but stalking is also a crime. I think that it really depends on his motives.

You may want to consider calling the cops every time he even comes close to getting out of line so that you can start a paper trail for a harrasment case.

Just move away from him or you allready moved away from the landlord asshole and now its a neighbor asshole...
