Dub Dub Dub
Who the hell says "dub dub dub" while giving a url instead of saying "www"?
I was just on the phone with someone giving me a website address to type in, and I actually was trying to type in dubdubdub as part of the url... lol. Then he explained to me that it was short for "www", so it took that much longer, and I could actually hear my teeth grinding with annoyance. Yes, I think less of this person now. |whisper| |
he could have said "bushbushbush" ;-)

I realy like the people that think they have to spell it ALL out

I love the ones that know the difference between a web address and an e-mail address.

my mom says:
dubya dubya dubya . site.com haha |
About ten years back I had Christmas eve dinner with a very drunk priest who thought the correct term for "surfing the Internet" was "Smurfing the Internet". Not because he was drunk, but because he thought it was named after those little blue pixie like things.

Fonz, hand back your webmaster's badge immediately. You cannot be a webmaster if you do not own a Volkswagen Caravanette.

I had heard people saying dubya too!! |
Worse yet are the people that can`t get the address right unless you say http blah blah blah! Nothing worse than when someone asks a question and you immeidately feel that in order to roperly answer them you`ll need to give them the whole background of the internet first!

LOL if you don't put in or say the "www" then there is about 25% of the population that will not, under any circumstances, EVER find the page you are pointing them too heh heh I keep it safe and do the www.sitename.com

This thread is evil |satan|
Everytime I type in a URL I hear myself saying "dub dub dub". The people around me start telling me I need some professional help. |
Am I the only one who says "triple W"?
|
I never put the www in front of domains. In fact on a Mac you don't even have to put the .com as it will add it for you.

RE:: "Judging from the response, I think that went straight over somebody's head" Yeah, that is the problem with speaking English on an Internet where most people speak American. You see a spelling mistake like that and assume it is just the usual "kindergarten spelling" that Americans use. Don't realise that for once The American spelling is same as the correct spelling, and the poster got it wrong.
