I miss NFL Sunday...
Well, its Sunday again folks and DAMN, I miss NFL football - BIG TIME. I miss it so much so, I changed my avatar - I really couldn't bear to look at it for the time being.
Since the NHL went the way of ubergreed, I am no longer a fan of that game anymore and if (when) they ever decide to come back, I really don't give a fuck - they lost permanently time. (With my luck, watch the LEAFS win like 5 cups in a row - NOT! LOL) |haha The NBA IS damn entertaining and this year the playoffs may actually be someting to enjoy from the very first round - not as in years past. But I'm reading that if they don't resolve their CBA concerns, there may be (albeit remote) a very microscopic chance they may str*ke. And because MLB has been tarnished due to its labor issues/greed from days gone by, MLB is not for me and I don't give a fuck about MLB anymore either. NASCAR is fun but 4 hours of oval racing gets to be VERY monotanous after the first 45-60 minutes and besides, I'm sick of the usual guys winning it. I wish Greg Biffle was contending. Lately, I've been watching some football (or soccer as its called over here) and have begun to enjoy it - sort of. The games are not as boring as I once envisioned. I mean, there are two halves, which is cool. The punter, I mean goalie, can really hoof the nuts of the ball and there is a fair bit of tackling going on too! However, soccer players are pussies in the sense that if you breath or sneeze on them they fall to the ground like a ton of bricks have been released on them. And what's this clutching of the shin stuff? Aw c'mon. Aussie Rules Football - now thats a sport you can really sink your teeth into! The players are big & tough, they beat the fuck out of each other, there's MONSTER tackles and if your lucky, you can witness breaking bones, the ball looks so familiar, it can bring a tear to your eye. Even the James Bond dude that signals a touchdown in the endzone is too cool for words. |thumb Oz Football definitely does rock. But... I still miss NFL. Anyone out there that feels the same? |firstdown Express your thoughts. |

Yeah, I'm jonesing too. I hate this lull during the spring and summer. I'm not a hockey fan (like that matters this season) nor am I into racing, basketball or baseball. I watch a little tennis, but that's about it.
Of course, being a Bucs fan, I'm really disappointed. I don't know whether to look forward to next season or shudder with disgust. At least Brett Favre hasn't announced his retirement yet. Thank God for that. |

Now if I could just win the lottery, it would be a good start to spring. |thumb |
My favorite sport is world cup quality soccer and watching Aussie sports and Scottish games is a great way to pass the time but still there is nothing like football Sunday.
First of all football Sunday is always my best sales day (after about the 2nd or 3rd week) even though most sales come late in the day. Of course there are all the fond memories of watching the Redskins with my dear old dad. I think what makes football Sunday such a great thing is that watching a game is a team sport in itself. Many Europeans don't like the game because of the amount of time between plays but that's what makes it perfect to watch with your buds. You have time to eat your pizza and wings, argue about anything and every thing, grab a freesh beer during commercials and if a topic of discussion ever gets too far off track a great play will put everyone back in the game and change the subject :) There is just nothing better to watch with your buds then American Football! |
Vroom Vroom :D

SexyCityJim,
I live in Toronto. Born in Roslindale, Ma so I come from two hockey crazed cities. Here in T.O., the majority of the people have gone by way complacency to border line not resentment. My cousins in Boston are the same way. These players are not athletes as much as they are so-called "business" men. That I respect. However, they are demanding too much. The latest figures show that they want 1.5 billion dollars worth of revenue out of a possible 2 billion dollar pie. They can go fuck themselves real hard and deep in their respective asses. If I was an owner of a franchise, I would tell them 1.2 billion MAX. People, think about it. 1.2 billion represents $40 million per team. That allows ownership to make money. They do after all own the team. They paid money for the franchise. They are entitled to make the most money, the largest return on investment. I have been to other sports boards and stuff and I wouldn't mind watching replacement players to be quite honest. Afterall, the NHLPA did go over to other leagues around the world and put other people out of work so they got it coming to them. Big Time. I will never watch another NHL hockey game no matter what. I said that in 1994 and i will re-interate it again. And I don't care if Boston or Toronto win the next 100 years worth of cups. I've said my piece. |pimpin pornrex |

I wish I could say I had your resolve Porn
But I know once the lockout is over I'll be watching again as for football I found myself following the scouting combine more than I ever did and the few Patriots that were leaving kept them in the news and it looks like we're gonna pick up Duane Starks to replace Ty Law so I still got some football stuff to watch, read and listen too |
