Sponsor sends checks that I havent earned..... what to do?
 

They have sent me 2 checks with totally $500 but I cant see the sales in my stats.

I have sent it some traffic but not very much

Something says me that this will hunt me down sooner or later if I cash in the checks......

So, what would you do?

Write to the sponsor and ask what's up.

Have you contacted them? Ask them....to look into it...maybe you did send traffic and their stats dont work?

E-mail the sponsor is what he'd do. Then he'd have sex.

i think the best way is email them then ask about the total traffic you've sent to them.

Yes you should ask.. Somewhere, theres an affiliate out there complaining he/she hasn't gotten their check yet perhaps.. late on rent.. evicted.. no babys milk money.. think of it that way.

I say yes, ask them about it. Make sure it's your money and your conversions! It will look good to them too that you are making an attempt at being honest, and they will regard you as a trustworthy webmaster!

I'd contact them and ask them to send you a confirmation of your stats history for the time period listed on those checks. If it doesn't jive, let them know - better to be honest and know that for every opportunity you left behind there are 4 other better ones for you :)

Did you check if you signed up a whale under you and that may be why you're getting paid? Also, I'd check the stats for the exact dates that it gives - sometimes during bonus periods, the only way you'll see that bonus payout is if you go to those dates exactly.

I got a check from ccbill once for about $2K. after they wired me the money the week before. When I called about it, they were very surprised.

Not sure how often that kind of stuff happens...

Cash the checks and keep your mouth shut. Consider it payment for all the sponsors that failed to pay you. |satan|

Check to see if it's for signing up webmasters, or some sort of promo bonus.

I won $1,000 in a promo contest and got sent $1,500. I like the sponsor so I sent $500 back. :)

Check your stats first, then tell them if it doesn't add up. They may let you keep it anyway, but at least you'll be honest. You'd want them to be honest if you earned money... Plus it's good karma. ;)

That's where my checks went. You should immediately send them to me.

I'd tell them. Merely ask them to confirm that the payment was due.

There are a lot of classy people in this business. I know some program owners who would probably just say "Hey, go ahead and keep it. Thanks for promoting us and letting us know".
