Canadian satellite TV
What's the best one?
Bell? or StarChoice? Help me out... cuz I'm about to toss videotron into the trash bin here. |
Depends on what you're looking for. I think Bell is probably better - they have more hi-def stuff and better sports packages. StarChoice doesn't even have the NHL package...which doesn't matter too much right now as there's no hockey.
We're on StarChoice only because we can't receive the BEV satellite from where our house is (trees in the way). Apparently the SC sat is at a higher latitude in the sky. There's not really a clear-cut answer to your question. It's a Coke/Pepsi kinda thing. |
Yeah, really they're about the same. We have ExpressVu (Bell), and are reasonably happy with it.
|
If you have a HDTV then go with the one that has more HD channels :)

I hate Bell, but I have had both and expressvu was better by far... particularly with all the time shifting channels...
If you have DSL from them or cell service, you can also get a price break. Alex |
One thing that Bell has that Starchoice doesn't is the PVR receiver (personal video recorder). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's a lot like TIVO?
|
PVR must be Canadian slang for DVR :D
TiVo is a DVR, but with a lot of wonderful bells & whistles. There's a thread on it around here someplace :) |
GG hooked me on to Tivo and it is awsome now i don't think i can live with out it.. |bananna| |bananna| |bananna|
|
Actually we both wish we could have our bootleg Directv back. :)
