Using your own domain for non-porn exits

Do you think it's worth setting up your own domain to take your non-adult exit traffic? It would mean that you could have a much cleaner page than you'd get if you sent directly to a sponsor. It also gives you a chance to sell a variety of things.

Would you include casino links on the landing page?

What about non-nude paysites? Is it worth including a couple of links to such sites?

Casinos are considered adult.

I guess that makes sense. :)

What would LL owners feel about an exit link leading to a page promoting a casino though?

Cleo 2005-03-13 08:13 AM

It is an adult exit link so I just count it against one of your three allowed links.

Greenguy 2005-03-13 08:16 AM

You'd probably want to use a domain that had nothing to do with porn or adult, since the sponsor would see hits coming from joeblowpornsite.com & probably shitcan your account over a violation of their TOS.

I'm having a move round of web hosting and I found that www.DailyLink.com is doing nothing at the moment - it was that that gave me the idea. It's got some trivial porn links on there atm. If I changed that, how long do you think I should wait before I started using it?

I once pondered creating a non-adult site called Exit. With all those 'Exit' links around my sites I could beef up Exit's search engine placement on the keyword 'Exit'. Marvelous! I ditched the idea five minutes later after realizing no one searches for 'Exit' on google.

It sounded cool for that 5 minutes I considered it.

as long as it has no porn links on it you should be ok, I don't think non-adult sponsors are gonna go searching cached pages or anything... they might check it out just to make sure and then only if a ton of traffic came from it all of a sudden... I have a domain registered to send exit traffic to but have been too lazy to build the page yet

google and yahoo along with disney already have the EXIT search term locked up... search for exit on google and yahoo and see what comes up...

I was going to add a title tag to the exit html.

Yep, noticed that. I realized even if I could create a site called Exit it was going to be competing with Google, Yahoo and Alta Vista for that useless word. It was my few free sites vs. millions of others.

that would work if you did it right and did some keyword research... or you could make your exit link like WANT TO LEAVE? CLICK FOR KEYWORDS even if people don't click on it it will help with the SEs... hell it works for yahoo and google for EXIT

something like blinkerfluid.com.... I fucking love that domain name...I use to use that as a pickup line after the bar closed sometimes.... hey.... it looks like you are low on blinker fluid, lemme check it out for you real quick... of course I was shitfaced but it was a funny "in" '

Ms Naughty 2005-03-14 06:44 AM

I didn't know what blinker fluid was. I looked it up. Now I know. So you can't send me out for any :)

that's a funny site... I use to be an electrician and was always sending the new guys to my different crews to get the "wire stretcher" :D

Greenguy 2005-03-14 08:16 AM

I actually stole the phrase from Ampland - he was going off on one of the surfer emails & asked him if his vehicle was low on blinker fluid. So now that poorly designed & sporadically updated site exists :D
