ICQ Problems Anyone?
 

ICQ has been dead for me all day. Seen posted elsewhere some others having problems logging in.

Just figured I'd bring it up, and let anyone trying to msg me that I'm not ignoring you ... ICQ just hates me today.

yup. gotta download ICQ's program to get on.

wont work with trillian.

ICQ is 'booting' us 'leechers'. if you're on trillian STAY CONNECTED. you wont have problems until you reconnect to icq.

cerrulian is working on a patch.

as I understand this is also a problem with older icq programs, they want you to use the 'new one' with 'XTRAZ' aka 'SPYWARES!' and 'LOTS OF ADS' and so forth.

I must have the spyware version, working for me all day.

That blows big time, all but a very small handful of my important contacts (e.g. everyone I added since Jan. 2002) are stored in Trillian and NOT in the online ICQ contact list. |angry|

off topic: FYI - anybody needing to get ahold of Mishi will have to wait until this evening. She's got jury duty today and tomorrow.

i think icq imported my trillian contacts. not 100% sure tho. give it a try.

I use gaim (http://gaim.sourceforge.net/) and it connects just fine. I just tried it on both accounts. And with the encryption plugin..... oh, wrong thread for that. haha

Next time you cannot login, edit the ICQ server list (here is a list of servers: http://www.arcwebserv.com/jumpsite/icq.html).

Or you can download Trillian-- I've never ever had a problem connecting to a server with Trillian (www.trillian.cc).

If I had a penny for everytime someone posted about not being able to connect to ICQ, I'd have enough money to buy The Hun and redirect it to Google.

I hate the new ICQ. I don't use that many of the special features but I really wanted to be able to set my contact list into folders. Is that too much to ask??? |cry|

Actually, I'm using Trillian. :( It seems from what I can gather that ICQ did something that's locking out Trillian 3+ users.

trillian now has a patch taht works splendidly.

requires 3.1 with all patches, but working fine on icq atm.

yep. trillian wouldn't connect to icq for me yesterday. i let trillian install some udpate and it's fine now.
