question about paid content on free sites

whats the min you should pay for content for a free site? i'm guessing the $0.06 per pic sets wouldn't be a good idea but what about $0.20-$0.25 per pic? or should i be doing $0.40-$0.50?
whats the min you pay per pic? i'm looking to get some content from ounique they go all the way down to $0.06 but like i said i'm gussing that wouldn't be to good of a idea :D

Depends entirely on the quality of the content. You can get some great stuff for $0.10 a pic, but you've got to do a lot of sifting to find it.

the price doesn't matter so much as how many other people are using the same content... you could end up paying for sets that won't get listed because a bunch of people already bought them... and usually the cheaper the prices the more people there are using the content, but if you find an unknown content store with good sets, don't advertise it all over the place :D

In my opinion you should spend as little as possible on free site content. Hello - it's a free site! We don't want to give the surfers exclusive or even particularly unique content.

On the other hand, you also don't want to use content that's way overexposed.

There are dozens - if not hundreds - of content providers with nice sets of content, cheap, that hasn't been seen everywhere. I'd post my own list, but that would defeat the purpose. ;)

If you're buying content, you can leverage the value of that content by using it for more than just making free sites. For instance, you can use the same content to make some AVS sites. How much I'll pay for content depends on how much use I think I will get from it.

I agree that the price doesnt matter as long as you are fullfilling your niches you are advertising and also how far you want to go in impressing the surfer (your members). You can also pick up package deals from content providers that offer you different niches to better help you a a site owner to fullfill all your sites. Here is one for example: http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...ad.php?t=17966

If you have any questions or help on niches contact me my line is always open.

Actually I love a set of content that I got for $5 one time. Used it for one gallery and one free site, and must have made over $150 bucks(still counting) from it. Got to get around to using some more from it.

The content was exactly what the surfers were looking for in a niche that many WMs/sponsors don't promote properly.
