Choosing a good domain

If I choose a "cumshot" domain, will my "pissing", "teen", "lesbo" galleries on the same domain be rejected?

I don't want to buy a domain for every niche, off course... at least until I see some money!
:D

I don't think the domain name has much of a bearing on it....unless it's black listed or has undesirable words in it.

Hi,

Domains are so cheap now that I go on hunting forays and if I see a good one, I grab it. I then develop the site later when I've got time. I never seem to be able to find a domain for a specific project when I need it, which is why I like to keep a few "on the shelf".

Don't ask me. I just purchased buttplugballfan.com the other day. (true) What niche would that be? Unless you intend on buying a bunch of domains, you may be better off just buying a more generic porn name that will fit many niches.

You do need to excercise a bit of self control. :D

I reg'd armpits.info and fuckysucky.info

Yeah, that's what I'm doin' - keeping a few "on the shelf"! It's not that I tend to register whatever catches my fancy, even if it has absolutely nothing to do with what I was actually looking for...I'm planning ahead! ;)

That's just what I tell myself. :D

Actually it's worked out quite well, as I've even sold some names for amounts between $100 and $1,000. I also get some parking revenue and signups from the "dormant" ones.

ReverendSassy 2005-03-25 11:13 AM

I personally recommend that a newbies first domain be 1 that is "generic" That way you can take the time to see what niche you are able to market the best and thus make the most money from

Head Boy 2005-03-25 11:42 AM

That's good advice from the Reverend - you can always use a generic domain as a hub later when you start to promote multiple niches.

ReverendSassy 2005-03-25 11:58 AM

Yep HeadBoy is right!!! That's why I'd build the free sites on the back end leaving the front end open and preparing it to be your hub :)

Domain names are so cheap nowadays, it doesn't hurt (your wallet) to have a unique domain for each niche. Doing so is good for search engines will account for keywords in your domain name.

If you're on a budget, go with ev1servers.net ($6.49) or namecheap.com ($8.88) for domain name registrations.
