What can i do to get my site listed?
Greenguy,
I submitted my site (www.amateurafricans.com) to you on thurs and ive submitted it a few times before - what i would like to know is if am gonna get listed and if not what i can do to get listed? I never get any response from you, so a response would be appreciated Regards Reggie |cry
I don't show it at all in my admin & since the domain is not on the blacklist, I have to assume that your email is (or that you're using a free email with is against the rules)
But I will say that you might want to re-read my rules before you bother submitting it again, as you're breaking a lot of them from what i can see. |
GreenGuy - Thanx 4 the response
Ive had a look at your rules and i must say that they are a bit too strict but anyway, it seems am not complying with about 5/6 of the rules. Since you have taken a look at the site, would compliance guarantee a listing? What exactly is a blind link? Is it when u mask the URL? Regards Reggie. |
Strict rules mean happy surfers :)
I looked at the site again & I really don't advise you to make it compliant with my rules, as that'd take you a very long time. As far as blind links, I consider every link on your site blind since the constant mouseover of "UK Black Girls with Phat African Booties & Thick Pussy!!!" does not allow me to see the URL of any of the links. |
Why do u say it will take a while?
This rule doesnt make sense in relation to keeping surfers happy: "no more than 3 banners/links to sponsors on each page" - You have way more than that on your page - so are your surfers unhappy when they see that? |
Actually it wont take a while, its just that most of them dont make sense so its all good - ill keep my site the way it is |bananna|

Like I said, I don't advise you or anyone else to completely redesign their site in order to get listed.
But I will say that next time you submit to a Link List, you might want to read the rules before you submit :) |
OK Cool - i remember that some years ago i did read some of the rules and found them to be unbelievable so i thought it was just a way of putting people off. All i ever wanted the few times i tried to submit was a response saying ......
Am happy ive seen this board and joined it cuz now ive gotten a response Good Luck Reggie |king
Reggie.. ya seem like a nice guy, so I will try to 'splain some of this stuff. Most of the link sites I submit to either copy GreenGuy's rules almost to the letter or are very close. So, if you want link lists to work with you, you have to submit what they want to see. All they are trying to do is give their surfers a list of sites that are of a known quality. Follow the rules and you will get listed.
Most of the linksites have way more than 3 outbound links per page because they don't have any content of their own. They are linklists. Surfers know this and expect it. When they go to a free site, they expect to see some pictures, watch some movies, or read stories. They have to be able to find our stuff easily so that they get excited and click on what we are advertising. The mouseover part is easy.. I love Cleo's site for the very clear, excellent explanations.. go to http://www.cleos-porn-links.com/adul...aster-help.php and check it out. If you still have questions, I will do what I can to help ya. Another thing that you will get gigged on is the hardcore (penetration) on any banner that is in a "public" area. This means your index page. Ditch the counters, too if you want anyone to take you seriously. Blind links mean just that. Your text says one thing, but you are taken somewhere else. When I looked at your site, I wasn't sure if it was a paysite or free site or link list. When I clicked on Join Now, it took me to some other paysite. The surfer has no clue where he is going because your mouseover has no return on it. If I was a surfer, I would be leaving your site either totally mad or confused. If you look at a lot of the paysites today, you will see nothing but text and the standard adult warning. Once you click "Enter", then you are into an adult area. If you are trying to submit as a freesite, there are some great tutorials out there - Check this board and Netpond. I saw enough stuff there for about 20 free sites. |
Pagan - Thanx for your response.
Now no one is saying that as a LL, you can make rules but i want to ask everyone on this board something, if greenguy or all the other big LL out there werent as big as they are, do u think they'll have so many rules? So r the rules bcos of their size or bcos they have the so called loyal surfers in mind? |pokefun
Size has nothing to do with it (LOL...no really, this time I mean it...) It has to do with keeping the loyal surfers on the site. If you are honest, and give them what they want, they will stay.
If they come to your site looking for pics, and you give them crap, and popups, and redirect them through hell, or give them no clue where they are going, and they have to spend 10 minutes looking for even 1 pic, they are going to leave frustrated and pissed off. It would be like walking into a store with nothing on the shelves, and telling the saleslady what you want, having her walk into the back storeroom and giftwrap it for you, then walk out and hide it. Then expect you to pay for it sight unseen while you spend your time hunting for it, with her blabbing in the background that it isn't really what you wanted in the first place. And then when you finally find it, just having to trust that what is in the box really is what you were looking for and came in wanting. Just doesn't work. LL's have their rules because it is what keeps their surfers happy and makes them $$$, not because they are big and on a power trip....And when the LL has surfers that come to their site, stay on their site, and keep coming back, the sites listed end up making money..... I'm new to link lists and questioned the use of the warning page. I started a thread about it on GG&J in fact. What I learnt from the discussion is that the free site structure is quite well thought out. It has benefits for the surfer, the listing site and the submitter, and in fact it's better than TGP gallery pages.

My rules have always been based on what I would like to see as a surfer. Of course my rules have changed over the years just as the industry has changed, but for the most part, the rules are based on me as a surfer wanting to look at clean sites.
Here's a copy of my rules page from 6 years ago: http://web.archive.org/web/199902200...y/therules.htm A few things have been added, but not that much has changed. |

Jaden and GG hit it right on the head. They don't make the rules for the free sites they are promoting just to be mean. They do it because clean sites that are easy to view keep surfers coming back for more. More traffic = more money.
One other clue here. If you keep being rejected, do some surfing on your own. Hit GG's list (or any LL you want to be listed on) and visit several sites in the category you want to be listed in. Do your sites look like those? Are they clean and easy to navigate? Do they make your browser do strange things or toss odd messages on your status bar? Can you find what you are looking for quickly? Last, read the rules and if you don't understand them or have a question, ask before you submit!! Most of the LL owners use this forum, many will answer an email if you word it nicely. |
OK Thanx! |cool|
