Urb - its been down for a few weeks - some think testing the update with a new filter?

yeah...last night the search was flipping between datacenters,,,,,so once again....we get to buckle up and see what happens...

I've been watching google fairly closely for a while, and I really haven't seen many results stay the same for more than 48 hours... Then they swap to an older db, and then a few hours later they swap back, then they swap to something else...

There doesn't seem to be anything static about googles results anymore.

only changes Im seeing in the last few days is fresh results coming in...about two weeks ago there was a real nice SERP ranking update for established sites - the changes Im seeing today look mostly like some new sites (I noticed one where I bought the domain last week and put a site on it 3 days ago) being brought in to the mix - maybe getting ready for a PR/backlinks change this weekend.

Oh yeah...just noticed -va has the new PRs too - a real update finally

I have a bunchof new pages picked up, already cached in the main cache... all stuff new this week, so the turn around time is REALLY quick now.

I finally got Booballistics to a PR5.. and with nice better SERPs too |bananna|

I've punched in some relevant search terms over on the google dance site and they show identical results on all 3 servers. However they are not identical to what I get if I do a "real search". Unfortunately I might add. Whats up with that?

JanTM - when you use the dance tool choose the view all datacenters instead of the www,www2 and 3 and you will see all of the possible results - sometimes when you do a search you will be directed to one of those 10 or so datacenters which sometimes dont match :)

Well, this update is proving to be VERY interesting... a bunch of new stuff got picked up, and some of it already shows PR4 and one PR5... for brand new pages. Also seeing some nice three level deep caching on some domains with a root of PR4, again good news.

The SERPs are still being brewed, from what I gather. One of my "key" search terms has not moved at all for the top 30 sites, somehow I doubt that would really be the case. We'll see.

Now to try to leverage all these new PR4s into something special :-)
